The colored layer is sealed between two microscopically thin layers of clear film, minimizing dye migration and extending the product's effective life.Unlike ordinary color filters that are surface-coated on clear polyester plastic film, over 65% of the Roscolux line, including this Lux Red Diffusion, is made from co-extruded polycarbonate plastic. The remaining part of the line is deep dyed polyester. This innovative construction method ensures the color is not merely painted onto the surface, but is integral to the material itself. This material will probably do what I need to do, but there are many imperfections and indentations in this lens material making it unacceptable for anyone at needing a large defect-free surface. I just need little bits and pieces so, it's workable for me.
