Unlike ordinary color filters that are made by surface coating clear polyester plastic film, Roscolux filters are comprised of two types of plastic. Over 65% of the filter is made from co-extruded polycarbonate plastic, while the remainder is deep dyed polyester. This construction method ensures the color isn't merely painted onto the surface, but is integral to the material itself. This results in a filter that resists heat and physical abrasion, reducing the risk of fading and scratching.The Roscolux Dark Bastard Amber filter, also known as "Supergel" in overseas markets, is currently the most widely used filter range globally. It's available in sheets of 20in. X 24in. (50cm x 61cm) or rolls of 24in. X 25ft. (61cm x 7.62m). For larger dimensions, the Cinelux line of filters is available in rolls of 48in. X 25ft. (122cm x 7.62m).
