Questions & Answers

patricia f : I am looking for a filter that dims down my harsh LED lights about 50% and give them a warm, darker incandescent light appearance. Would this be a good choice?JONATHAN N : This gel will change "daylight" temperature (around 5500 kelvin) light to a "warmer" (yellowish tint) temperature (about 2900 kelvin). In doing so it will cut down slightly on the output, but possibly not what you would perceive as 50%. For that you should use a flag kit such as the Digital Juice Pro Flag Kit, 24 x 36" and experiment with single and multiple flags to achieve the effect you are after. Bi-color adjustable output LED lights can eliminate the need for many gels and reduce the need for flags (blockers/nets).ULISES A : Hi.. yes it would... You can even fold or cut different layesr to dim the light down. Watch out for the white balance though. Consider a light modifier like an umbrella or softbox to soften the light.KEITH M : If your LEDs are daylight balance (5600K), this gel will balance them to incandescent (~3000-3200K). However, adding this gel will not cut your LED power by 50% or diffuse them in any way. You need to add translucent diffusion to cut the power or soften the quality of the light.JAMES L : Yes, that's what I used it for too. It does work for that, but it does also fade over time. I installed some to cut the harsh blue glare from some outdoor LED light fixtures about 3 years ago. They still work, though the amber has faded to more of a yellow-pink now.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?WENDY W : Chosen to repair darkroom safelights.JETERAL M : Needed some neat resistance color correction for my new lightDAVID M : want to lower brightness of my solar led lights on a dock, the bright 5500 lts attract bugs!BRIAN C : trying to make my LED lights look warmerJesus Z : I want to try to lower my "daylight" lightbulbsTAMMY M : To replace the filters on a Thomas Duplex safelightDaniel K : To soften our out door lights at the school to comply with night light ordinance lawsTONY C : Play around with effects using white balance.Joy K : I have the Flashpoint Mini and it does not come with a daylight/tungsten correction filters set, these are the two gels that work: Lee Filters Full CTO & Rosco 3407 CTO.Steve L : Saw and found this product from YouTubeLyman S : Using in a GOPRO underwater dive housing to correct for lack of red at depthJames N : Hoping to cut to size and fit into my LED high hats to cut the glare and give a warm incandescent light.

About Rosco RoscoSun Cinegel #3407

Under the meticulous craftsmanship of Rosco, the 3407 RoscoSun Cinegel CTO, measuring 20x24 inches, stands as a professional-grade color correction lighting filter designed to seamlessly convert 5500K daylight to a warmer 2900K. This high-quality filter is the go-to choice for filmmakers and videographers aiming to achieve a more inviting, warm ambiance or to correct daylight that exceeds 6000K.

Crafted with precision, the RoscoSun Cinegel CTO filter boasts an optically clear construction, ensuring that the integrity of your image remains uncompromised. With a mired shift of +167 and a transmission of 47%, this filter subtly reduces light intensity by -1.1 stops, making it an effective tool for managing challenging lighting conditions.

The versatility of the RoscoSun Cinegel series is evident as it includes options such as the Sun 85 and Neutral Density Filters. These are commonly applied to windows not only for color correction purposes but also to diminish light intensity, aligning exterior light levels with those of interior settings for a balanced exposure.

The RoscoSun 85, an amber filter within the series, expertly lowers the color temperature of daylight to match 3200K light sources, while the Neutral Density Filters from Rosco reduce exterior light levels. For those requiring both color temperature conversion and light reduction, Rosco offers materials that combine the Sun 85 conversion with Neutral Density benefits.

All RoscoSun Cinegel materials are deep-dyed to ensure optical clarity and color consistency throughout your production. The standard size of these filters is extra wide, but the 20x24 inch sheets are perfectly suited for a broad range of applications, from small-scale projects to large productions, ensuring that professionals have the right tools to achieve their creative vision with precision and ease.
