Because safety is paramount in any setting, the Flamex DF Flame Retardant for Delicate Fabrics, a 5-gallon (18.95 liters) solution, is expertly designed to provide effective flame resistance without compromising the softness and drape of your delicate materials. This product is ideal for treating fabrics used in scenery and costumes, which often present a challenge due to their delicate nature.
Roscoflamex DF, the key ingredient in this solution, ensures the preservation of the fabric's soft qualities while delivering a robust flame treatment. This flame retardant solution is compatible with most natural or synthetic fiber fabrics, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of applications.
The Flamex DF Flame Retardant comes premixed, eliminating the need for further dilution. However, the application method and the amount required for effective treatment may vary depending on the fabric in use.
One gallon of this flame retardant solution can treat approximately 500 square feet (46.4 square meters) of fabric. The product can be applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying. Dipping is the most efficient method, requiring a ten-minute immersion followed by air drying. Brushing involves using a wide lay-in brush to ensure adequate absorption into the fabric fibers. For spray application, a Hudson-type sprayer with a medium nozzle setting is recommended to ensure optimal coverage.
Roscoflamex DF has earned approval from the California and New York City Fire Marshall and has been tested according to NFPA 701 standards. For storage, it is recommended to keep Flamex products in non-metallic containers and clean any metal sprayers immediately after use.
This flame retardant solution is ideal for treating a variety of delicate fabrics including sheers, silks, organza, chiffon, lace, and gauze. However, it is always recommended to treat a test sample first to determine the fabric's reaction and to test for effective flame retardance.
Please note, Roscoflamex DF is a new formulation designed to enhance performance on delicate and sensitive materials. It is advised not to intermix old and new Flamex products. Always read the instructions supplied with any Flamex product carefully before use.
