When it comes to enhancing the safety of your raw wood and cellulosic materials, the Flamex WD Flame Retardant is an exceptional choice. This product is specifically designed to render materials such as plywood, board stock, sheet goods, hay, acoustical tile, and other common materials flame retardant.
Once the Flamex WD treatment has fully dried, you can freely paint or stain your wood materials without compromising their flame retardance. This flame retardant solution has been premixed for your convenience, eliminating the need for further dilution.
The application method and the amount of Flamex WD required may vary depending on the materials you're treating. A single gallon of Flamex WD can effectively treat approximately 150-200 square feet (14-18.5 square meters) of material.
For optimal results, you can apply Flamex WD by dipping, brushing, or spraying. Dipping is the most efficient method, requiring a full immersion for ten minutes followed by air drying. Brushing involves using a wide lay-in brush to work the solution into the fibers of the material in a criss-cross pattern. Spraying requires a Hudson-type sprayer with a medium nozzle setting. Regardless of the method, it's crucial to ensure adequate absorption and to apply a second treatment after the first has been absorbed.
Flamex WD has earned approval from the California and New York City Fire Marshall and has been tested according to ASTM E84 Class B standards. For storage, it's recommended to keep Flamex products in non-metallic containers and to clean metal sprayers thoroughly after use.
Please note that while Rosco offers Flamex WD in good faith, it's essential to read the instructions carefully and test the product before use to ensure its suitability for your intended application. Flamex WD is comparable to the original W40 and should not be intermixed with old Flamex products.
This flame retardant solution is ideal for treating a wide range of materials, including plywood, luan, pine boards, hardwood, homosote, hay bales, masonite, and MDF. Enhance the safety of your materials with the reliable and effective Flamex WD Flame Retardant.
