At this price point the Neo is a great value. It really puts out the light and I've not found any other portable constant light with this many useful features. I'm considering buying a second so I can use one as main and the second as fill and be more creative in lighting dramatic scenes.

The fall off on this light is what sold me. The ability to adjust W/B and power on the fly is a key feature in my style of shooting(weddings, portraits). I would recommend to anyone looking for a well build reliable light.

Durable and well built. Great light source. Being able to control color temp and power level were the big selling points for me. Works as advertised. Helps create fabulous images and more reliable than flash. The extra effects that this light can create is a nice bonus. My only downside is as others have stated, the power button is sensitive so beware.

Very happy with the item, especially because it was on promotion. I've been able to capture some fantastic images using this light, I should have bought two. (Regular price is rather steep for this type of light and what it offers but you'll be happy)

Paying for name but well built and color temp is accurate on the unites i have. I have several others just picked up an extra as it was at ($) and saved me money in the daily deals

I think for this price, the power is not good enough coz the light is only good around 4 to 5 foot. You will need to spent more money for it, so for who is with budget not recomment this .

After watching a YouTube review by Jason Lanier, I bought a Rotolight neo, loved the temperature control, and the color filter pack. I have since ordered the barn doors, and a second Rotolight neo. My picture quality has increased quite a bit since.

Nice quality. It is plastic, so don't go tossing it around. The instruction book is pretty clear, and the light does exactly what it claims. Its not strong light unless in a dark area. I used it for back-lighting. Barn doors are probably necessary. I can see where I will be enjoying this.

I've been reading about this light on Jason Lanier's site. I have large stand mounted LEDs and one portable light that is OK, but lacks the features of the NEO. This fits into my camera bag and I've already used it a lot for candid portraits and quick videos.

The package is great. The light is great. I like to work most with constant light and see what I am attempting to achieve right before my eyes with the light I am using on the subject. This ROTOLIGHT gives you both brightness and color control that is the best I have used by far. Considering the simplicity of the basic light and then all the other options I have not found time or have a use for ... YET! This Rotolight enhances what I can easily do in my studio and on the road. And it comes from the UK!? How Aristocratic!

I like having the ability to adjust color and intensity but I'm underwhelmed with the power of the led's. I tried adding light on a subjects face in dark shade and at full power had to get within 3' and even then it was weak.

I use this light to fill light for face or bit of back light on interviews. very easy to use and many other functions as well. Used flash mode to emulate computer screen or TV's. One of the best purchase I've made.

This light would be perfect if it were more powerful. It just doesn't do anything unless you're in a dark situation. It's too pricey for what it doesn't do. There are way better lights out there and cheaper. Too bad. Love the temp control, the design, the weight.

The quality of light is really beautiful skin tone. Color temp etc. is pretty good. My only problem is that it is only useful if you are really in a very dark environment then it would be nice to use because of what you see is what you get. Use high Iso then it is very usable. But during daylight and the subject is in open sage it is very hard to use even as a fill light. I was trying to use these for stills not video. For video purposes I might give it 3 to 4 stars. I have a flashpoint led ( 300 LEDs) it gives out more light than these rotolights thought different light quality.

I will be camera man for an event in the summer. I needed a portable light for the video camera to highlight the reporters face. I think this will do it. It's easy to navigate through the menu and the provided instruction booklet is efficient.

Got this light last week and fairly impressed with it. The build quality is very solid. Light color is very consistent and better than another cheap LED light I have. No flickering issues. Light output is good. Maybe next iteration with a little more power would be nice.

What a great little light!! Very powerful, seems to have a fantastic skin tone/ colour rendering, and really feels nicely made. The box says made in PineWood Film Studios UK, and you can really tell some real thought and care has been put into its construction. The ability to display the colour temperature you are working at is really useful, and the circular shape creates a great catch light thats really pleasing in the talents eye. Love the extra features and special FX modes (fire, lightning etc) but even just as a key or fill light this is fantastic. Comes with some gels and diffusion thats really nice, as well as handy carry case. Would highly recommend!

I saw this light at NAB 2015, and this is worth every single penny and then some. I saw film guys drooling over this, and just for TLCI and skin tone rendering alone documentary guys, too. Easily 10x better than the cheap $ Chinese lights. Also 3x brighter than most of the $ Chinese lights. (I know, I have an assortment of cheaper lights!) The overall total value floored me, since this does way more than the videos so far show... And they have calibrated the lights so it doesn't bring out the worst in faces, or make dirtiness pop out on objects, and all the other common issues with cheap lights. (Yet $ is honestly cheap for something hand built in the UK!) It actually a very good looking out out, much more like tungsten (except of course you can calibrate to daylight). Just cutting edge in every way. I'm going to buy a few to replace all my current little lights, so people (I shoot mostly interviews so far) and natural things like items will look great without so much work. Also I switched to a gh4 recently, which needs a ton of light, with less green, that the small Chinese lights just don't provide. These little neos pride enough light to run the gh4 at lower ISOs, where Panasonics shine. Doesn't make people look green, either. And lots of red, which is rare for LEDs, so people have a healthy glow instead of looking like vampires, haha.Compared to flashlights, yes, video lights seem more expensive. But their competition are $ Chinese lights, which are inferior in every way. Output alone is equivalent to around a $ light. But the quality of the light is more equivalent to much more expensive lights. And the built in computer that does special effects, light calibration, etc.... You just don't see that anywhere else! Also hand built in England at one of the top film studios in Europe where they film Star Wars, James Bond, etc. This is actually one of the best values I've seen, and the light quality and effects make filming so much easier now.

True Aperture Dimming
NEO features a world's first ground-breaking feature. NEO uses exposure information from the camera (Shutter speed and ISO) plus distance to the subject and data from the light to accurately calculate the correct aperture (F-Stop), whilst also compensating for skin tone contrast. This allows the photographer or cinematographer to work intuitively with the light and no longer need to meter every shot saving valuable time. As you adjust the distance from your subject or the brightness of the NEO, you would simply re-enter the relevant settings and NEO would display the updated recommended aperture accordingly (F-STOP).
Designer Fade Mode
Broadcast Video cameras typically feature an auto-fade button, whereas DSLR cameras do not. NEO for the first time allows DSLR cinematographers to create and design unique custom fade up / fade down production effects for your Video or to seamlessly transition between scenes.
CineSFX
Finally, an arsenal of Cinematographic Special FX (CineSFX), provides customizable creative visual lighting effects, on set or location (Strobe, Lightning, Fire, Cycle, Throb, Police & TV). They are fully customizable and include adjustable 'Rolling Shutter Compensation' for the stroboscopic effects. An optional 10 piece add on color FX Pack is also available to compliment NEO's CineSFX mode.
