Recent purchase. Still testing them out but love the colors. I labeled them as soon as I got them to make sure I don't mix them up. They are thin so definitely need to be careful with them.

The strips are a bit small for a full size speed light, but they fit my Flashpoint R2 Mini perfectly. Color selection is excellent, and it even comes with a couple of “rubber bands.”

I bought these after reading about them in the excellent photo blog, The Strobist, and am well pleased with the kit. In includes every filter most working photogs would need, and probably more than a Prosumer would use. Yes, if you're into surreal shots or doing product photography you may wish for a few more. But this is a great starter kit for those who aren't used to correcting their speedlight.

I bought the original Rosco Strobist collection a couple years ago. It was less than $10 but this new version is more than double the price at over ($). My old set of gels was stolen with a bunch of my camera gear so I needed to get a new one. Compared to the original collection this one has longer gels and a couple rubber bands. These rubber bands make it a little easier to quickly put the gels on your flashes. The original collection gels were 1.5x3.25" and the new collection gels are 1.5x5.5". The original collection came in a clear plastic tray that snapped open and closed but the new one comes in a folded cardboard case that closes with Velcro. The new case will get smashed no matter how careful you are with it. The new case is put together with double stick tape and the tape is coming unglued on mine after using only once. There are index tabs dividing the gels into categories but you'll need to take the entire set out of the case to look at them since it's pretty impossible to leaf through them in the case. One tip I have is to separate the 3409 Quarter CTO gels from the 08 Pale Gold gels. They come right next to each other and it's very hard to tell them apart. The original collection had a piece of paper behind each gel with a graph and a transmission percentage. The gels in the new collection just have a piece of tissue between each gel. I miss having the transmission percentage numbers available so I may have to go through the Rosco web site and copy the numbers to the index tabs. The tissue clings and sticks to the gels so it can be hard to slide them apart. If you have the old Rosco Strobist collection I would stick to that one or find it if you can. It was much cheaper and worked better for me compared to the new version.
