Really Right Stuff Base Plate for Canon EOS RP Camera

The Really Right Stuff EOS RP camera body plates are the premiere solution for mounting your Canon EOS RP camera securely to your tripod. Our EOS RP plates are custom designed and precision machined from solid blocks of 6061-T6 aluminum. Fully compatible with 1.5" RRS Dovetail Standard, this plate features precisely contoured edges for a perfect fit with no twisting between the camera and our plate. It utilizes a custom machined 1/4"-20 threaded, captive-style mounting screw that threads into the tripod mounting socket of your camera body. An integrated QD socket on the base plate provides quick attaching and detaching of our QD strap system. The additional 1/4"-20 accessory socket gives users the flexibility to attach other devices and products as needed.

This plate design utilizes two anti-twist pins to ensure a positive connection between the body and the plate. The full wrap-around design adds an additional .370" (9.4mm) of height to the hand grip and gives a comfortable place to rest your fifth finger. There is an integrated strap lug for use with hand straps which has been redesigned to minimize fraying of straps during long-term use. The battery compartment, SD Card, and all accessory ports remain fully accessible. On the two-piece L-set, a gap between the body and the L-portion allows the user to swing the accessory port doors out to the sides.

The plate's L-portion has a cutout in the dovetail to maximize screen articulation and use. It is specifically positioned to maximize screen fold-out angle and is as low-profile as possible to minimize obstruction of the screen - all while maintaining full access to all accessory ports and providing a solid mount to your tripod. Canon's optional right-angle remote shutter release (RS-60E3) can be used while the camera is mounted in portrait orientation. Due to the wide variety of cables available on the market, tethering in portrait orientation with USB, HDMI, and audio cables may require the use of the optional Really Right Stuff CRS.
