A Really Right Stuff Ball Head is the best choice for all general photography, and will give you fast and accurate control and solid support of your camera or lens. Aiming and horizon leveling can be accomplished as one instinctive motion, and rigid lockup takes just a quick twist of one control.As a result, our Ball Heads are faster to use and inherently more stable than 3-axis pan-tilt tripod heads. Since the Ball Head profile is smaller and lacks the protruding handles, they are also much easier to carry and pack. Good ball head

Having already owning the BH-55 this BH-30 was everything I was hoping coming from RRS.  Much lighter for hiking but robust enough to easily handle a Nikon D850 + 24-70 2.8 lens and even 70-200 2.8 with no hassle.   Very secure.   Product received just as advertised from Adorama.   Packaged well and on time.  I recommend this to any avid photographer.

RRS BH-30

This is a well-made head that is compact, yet sturdy.  Most importantly, it is made in the U.S.A.  Given the quality and high reputation of Really Right Stuff, I was surprised that the plate that holds the camera was slightly loose. I had to tighten it down with a hex wrench which solved the problem.  I know that this was an anomaly and not representative of the heads.  I do not hesitate to recommend RRS products.

Compact, yet sturdy

Only issues are that it gets scratched very easily and that the closing clamp is a bit too stiff for my liking.
