Great addition to the R3! I purchased it to allow for the camera strap to be connected at the bottom instead of the top. To me this solved the issue of the camera strap falling across the lens when going quickly from landscape to portrait mode.

These plates are fully compatible with any 1.5" standard dovetail (RRS standard) quick-release system, offering a seamless integration with your existing equipment.
