So far so good. I used the BBG on a job last week for the first time and it did a good job of eliminating wind noise during a light breeze. Haven't used the dead cat yet. It's small, light, and held firmly in place on my MKH50.

A solid piece for anyone recording outdoors. Do yourself a favor and get the windjammer as well. Only thing I didn’t like was that it’s a very expensive price tag for a plastic cage. I would have liked to see a little more for $120. Also, I use this for my sennheiser amber vr, and it’s a tight fit head wise. I can’t move the mic with this attached without hearing it hit. Would like to see a larger cavity with a customizable opening size.

I normally use full zeppelins on all my exterior microphones for sound location work. I recently picked up a SONY FS-100 for a personal project and needed to mount a Sennheiser MKH-50 to the camera for feeding audio scratch track and recording impromptu interviews. While I much prefer the Cinela LEO Ball for its sonic transparency, I only use the LEO on controlled sets. For documentary run 'n gun work the LEO is too fragile so I swap out with the Rycote BBG with a Rycote Windjammer fur. While not as sonically transparent as the LEO, the Rycote can handle the rigors of run 'n gun productions. I debated over getting the Rycote Classic Softie, but decided the BBG and Windjammer fur gave me a little bit better wind suppression from heavier wind gusts.
