The Softie Windshield is available in a variety of sizes, making it compatible with most popular microphone models. It boasts a robust one-piece rubber diaphragm shock mount, crafted from durable EPDM material. This shock mount has been rigorously tested in diverse environmental conditions, guaranteeing its performance and longevity.

The Softie Mount is available in three sizes, each designed to accommodate a specific microphone diameter: Small Hole (19-20mm), Medium Hole (21-22mm), and Large Hole (24-25mm). These mounts, measuring 58mm in diameter and 56mm in length, are ideal for supporting short to medium length shotgun microphones. Please note, the Softie Mount is designed exclusively for cylindrical shotgun microphones and cannot accommodate microphones that taper.

The longest Softie Windshields offered by Rycote have an internal bore of 32cm (12-1/2"), suitable for microphones such as the AKG CK68 or Audio Technica AT815b. These are the longest microphones recommended for use with a Softie Mount due to its flexible nature. For longer microphones, a Full Windshield System and a Modular suspension are recommended.

The Softie Mount and Pistol Grip Handle, included with the Softie Windshield, offer a fast, flexible, and cost-effective solution for ENG on-camera microphones. This versatile accessory can be used as a handheld mount or fitted to a boom pole with a 3/8" Whitworth thread.
