Rycote ORTF Windshield Kit for Sennheiser MKH8000 Series Pair Mics, Includes ORTF Suspension, AE Windshield, Fitted Mic Windshield, MZL Stereo Connbox

ORTF is a stereo recording technique developed by French broadcasting engineers in the 1960s. It involves positioning a pair of microphones with the capsules spaced 17cm apart and angled at 110 degrees to each other. This configuration is designed to mimic the spacing and positioning of human ears, providing a realistic stereo sound image.

The kit includes a Lyre suspension system, a cable clamp, and a 145mm Stereo Windshield & Windjammer. It also comes with a specially designed Rycote mounting adapter bar to maintain the correct spacing and angle for ORTF recording.

This kit is designed for matched pairs of Schoeps CCM or Sennheiser MKH 8000 series microphones. It ensures optimal performance and compatibility with these specific models.

The Rycote Connbox is designed to provide additional protection against cable-borne noise. There are two versions available, one with Lemo connectors for use with Schoeps CCMs, and the other with MZL connectors for use with Sennheiser MKH8000 series microphones.

The kit includes a shared windshield that is extremely resistant to wind noise. The robust Lyre suspension system also helps in minimizing unwanted vibrations such as cable-borne and handling noise.
