Safariland DNA Fingerprinting with Electrophoresis Lab Activity

Designed for the first-time user, the complete system comes with all the hardware you need to run electrophoresis tests. The system will safely run on low-voltage batteries, which will provide enough power to run up to ten gels. Students are given DNA samples from a "crime scene" to electrophorese and discover who perpetrated the crime by analyzing their unique genetic patterns, or fingerprints.

It comes with enough materials to perform up to eight separations: gel chamber, casting tray, six-well comb, prepared agarose, running DNA samples, DNA marker sample, micropipets, microcentrifuge tubes and an instructional video on electrophoresis, as well as a teacher's guide and student copymaster. Requires five alkaline or rechargeable batteries (not included).
