Mindi J : Can I use these on C-Stands?Grady W : I had the same idea because my two C-Stands are so heavy and hard to move when the lights and sandbags are attached. So I bought a set of these wheels planning to attach them toone of my C-Stands. I could not make it work. Although the orifices on the wheels are wide enough to accept the legs of the C-Stand, the angle of the C-stand legs near the floor is too wide (the bottom end of the legs are almost perpendicular to the floor), which makes it impossible to attach the wheels so that the rod sticking up from the wheels is perpendicular to the floor. Instead, the bottom of rods, once attached to the C-Stand legs, are angled back toward the center of the C-stand, which means the rod holding the wheels are not perpendicular to the floor. Although the C-Stand will stand up with the wheels attached in this fashion, the awkward angle of the wheels makes the whole arrangement less stable than I am comfortable with, especially when I have expensive speedlights, monolights and light modifiers attached to the C-stand. Moreover, the C-stand with the will not roll in a straight line across the floor because the awkward angles of the wheels causes the C-stand to rotate horizontally as you try to move it across the floor. It feels dangerously unsteady as it wants to go in a different direction than you are pushing it. It might work if there was some kind of adapter available that could be attached to the C-stand legs to make the C-stand legs approach the floor at the same acute angle as the legs of a typical heavy-duty light stand.KATHLEEN T : I tried them on mine and they don't line up right for it to move. Too bad. I still would like to find something that works.JASON A : It can work but it is not ideal. These are nice quality casters. I put them on my Matthews c-stand. First the metal insert is very thick so I had to remove it for the stand leg to fit. I put a small piece of wood in its place. This worked ok for inside use. However, due to the weight of the c-stand, at some point they would rotate out of position and the stand would tip over. Plus due to the angle of the Matthews legs, the wheel angle was not ideal. I now use them on a heavy duty aluminum light stand. It works much better and due to the lighter weight, the wheels tend to stay in place. I have even used it outdoors.

I don't know if it always has but, at the time that I purchased these casters, the product description clearly stated that they were for stands with 1 inch (25mm) tubing. These casters are, apparently, NOT meant for C Stands. Since the stand I was purchasing for appeared to be a Chinese clone of the Savage Pro Duty Drop Stand, I took a chance. They are perfect! Game changer for my garage turned studio and, I'm sure that, the more space you have, the more you'll appreciate the super smooth operation of these casters. Make sure they are installed properly, meaning all at the correct vertical angle, or there will be a slight lurch/wobble when the casters spin under the feet of the stand to change direction. If your stands have the correct sized tubing, no drilling or alteration at all will be necessary. I'm sure that, though these might adapt to C Stands with some effort and alteration, there are probably better, simpler solutions out there for them. I'm a VERY happy customer and I highly recommend this product for anyone with heavy duty light stands (with 1"/25mm tubing). I'll be getting another set for an older light stand.

Works Great After Modification

The wheels are great, simple design, easy to add and remove. I had the same problem getting them to fit my heavy duty stands. The metal inserts provided were too big not allowing me insert the leg into the caster. I purchased some metal bar and cut to length. Works great!

Don't fit on a C-stand.

I bought these in hopes that they would fit on the C-stand I also ordered. I had asked ahead of time if they fit, but no one could answer me. I also tried them on other various stands that I own, but they never fit in such a way that they actually roll. Now I'm stuck with them and have no use for them. If anyone knows of a good use for them I'd love to hear it. The quality seems fine, but I don't know what to use them on, since there's only three (which would be perfect if they fit on any of my MANY three-legged stands), that kind of limits it.
