Not for close up product photography. Quality is great but what the description doesn't tell you that this background has a texture that shows with close up photography, it's not flat white!

Nice heavy feel, hangs straight and doesn?t reflect light. Unrolls and re-rolls up flat and smooth. I?ve used it and stored it after 4 shoots now and it looks and works just like the first time.

The white vinyl is terrible! Very thin. Just walking on it leaves scuff marks. Waste of my money.

Client wanted a white background and I was not happy with our old one. Found this one and am very happy with the quality and size, has worked great.

I thought the vinyl backgrounds would be durable and a nice smooth surface, but my first headshot session for a theatre group showed lots of little shifts in the background. I was shooting with minimal light on the vinyl, wanting a gray background, but the vinyl background did not give me a nice even look. I suppose it will be better if I blow out the background for high key look, but I won't likely use it again for any other purposes. I feel like it was a waste of money.

I like this background. I use it for full body portraits and the models are sometimes wearing heels/shoes with no problems. Easy to clean. It does crease, but roll it out and let it hang vertically for a few hours and it straightens itself out.

I purchased the 60" x 18' and did a fashion shoot with a female model wearing high heels (her heels went through the 'sturdy plastic' in 3 minutes). Creases easily and attracts lots of static particles.

Wonderful size if you have the space for it. It's heavy so make sure you have a nice sturdy backdrop stand. It's great for everything from headshots to family group shots.

Trans-Lum is amazing stuff and has so many uses. You can use it as a background or a light source. Just put a light in back of it and you now have a giant soft box. Make beautiful light anywhere. Also use it for tabletop and interior photography. The list of uses goes on and on. 5 Stars!

This replaced a smaller version of the same thing, which was never big enough to pose effectively. When my light sources are at the right K, the backdrop is pure white. (Any fluorescent or LED contamination will give you yellow or blue tinge). A week after setting it up, a light stand fell on it and made a nasty black streak down the middle. I got a bleach-based cleanser and with repeated scrubbing the streak is gone. Whew! My only other comment is that when the package (a long cardboard tube) arrived, there were signs of damage but not breakage in the middle. It was evident when I pulled out the backdrop that the core tube had been bent. Not a deal-breaker, but an issue. All said, I love this purchase and would recommend it to anybody who want that white space in their images.

Material is great for intended use and cleans up easily. However, the initial background and black and gray splotches internal to the vinyl. Certain shots, it was noticeable. I contacted Savage directly and they were very interested in the quality issue and sent me an additional roll. It is great to see a manufacturer sincere about quality issues vs. what will it take to get you off the phone. I would not hesitate to purchase products from Savage.

Got 9x20. Knew it will be on a heavy side but loving the size. Great quality. It is bowing though. So I may have to ask hubby to invent something to help that. I hung in on a wall mounting system.

Used with two light setup, one behind and aimed at background and one 22" beauty dish on subject, gives a nice kind of halo light around edge of subject.

The hanging frame shown in the picture is not included and will cost customers another ninety bucks or so. It should have been grayed out and a note saying "frame not included" prominently given on this page. Haven't used the background yet, it may be fine.

I was looking for a gray background that I could use for on-location headshots. My collapsible blk/wht popup shows wrinkles(badly). I was hoping that the vinyl would be resistant to 'waves'(shadows from light streaming across appearing as waves) like cloth backdrops are prone to showing. I thought that the weight of it would keep it straight and even across but it doesn't. I tried it all the way unrolled and even partially rolled, which worked better. I had to change my lighting setup and use a more straight-on approach with my 7' umbrella. And I still needed to spend some time editing an even gradation on the background. I like the color. Also note that the outer side has a bit of gloss and the under side seems more matte. I used the under side.

Vinyl backdrops to my mind are far superior to most other options. This brand, unlike some others, is mounted on a large diameter cardboard tube which I can hang off the 2-1/2" diameter pipe I utilize.

Material seems sturdy, drapes perfectly (no curling or wrinkles like paper), texture photographs matte. Same price as a roll of paper, and I'll probably get tons more use out of it. The 5' width gives an extra 7" over 53" paper rolls, which is especially helpful when composing in landscape orientation. Note - The 7' length is only suitable for head shots. You'd have to do the 18' roll to do any full length portraits.

Vinyl is fine but it looks like it was cut to length by a 5 year old using left handed scissors - very rough cut edge.

What I was looking for was a good chroma green background without having to build a cyclorama wall. The Chroma Green Infinity Vinyl Background by Savage was the perfect solution for me. I was highly impressed with the quality of this background. I have used many muslin backgrounds in the past and the problem with the cloth is the wrinkles and the thinness of the fabric. The vinyl background is made of a think durable piece of vinyl that is easy to clean. I bought the 10x24 backdrop, which is good for a permanent location. We have ours mounted from the ceiling. The 10x24 is a little heavy for a support system especially if you are going up high. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and will be looking at getting a white background next.

Great Backdrop for Hi-Key photos!
By Amy
I chose the vinyl over seamless paper with the hope that it would last me basically forever and not have to continue to buy rolls of paper throughout the years. I have done several portrait sessions on the vinyl. As long as you know how to light it properly you'll have a clean bright white background on your portraits. Great for COB's or product photos too. It does clean up well, as I did have a naked newborn session mess on it - as I also planned for this to happen knowing the vinyl would ...
