Very happy with this light. Output is very good for a medium size studio set up with 2 smaller lights on umbrellas / softboxes and a hair light. I purchased the barn doors and snoot for this and it is exactly what I was looking for. Sturdy and attractive, but you will need a heavy-duty stand you can trust if you want it placed higher than 5' so bear that in mind. Super satisfied. Would not hesitate to buy more of this one.
The Savage 1000 Light Head is a daylight-balanced LED light that produces 1,000 watts of incandescent light, 13,000 lumens, when used with its reflector (included) while using only 100 watts of power. It has a life expectancy of 50,000 hours. This light features a front mount that allows most light modifiers to be attached to it by using a Bowens speedring adapter. Adjusting power from the lowest to the highest light output results in minimal fluctuations in Kelvin temperature (+/- 200K). Its dimming range is from 0 - 99%, with a digital readout helping to keep lighting output consistent. The Savage 1000 Light Head works well in the studio, including lighting interviews and photo sessions, as well as with shooting on location.

how many lumens? overview says 13,000 and specs says 1,300

It is 13,000 lumens. While not up to a 1000 Watt incandescent, it is quite bright.

Are the mounting points plastic or metal?

What is the physical size of this light? How much does it weigh? (Not the shipping weight, but the weight of the actual light.)
JOHN M
12" long (not including any reflector or protective cap), 5" wide, 5.25" tall (add 4" for the light stand connector). It weighs 4.6 pounds on my bathroom scale.
