Bought these a few years ago, can?t find anything comparable to these anymore. These things are sturdy and I will proabbly be buying a few more. I trust these with my ad200 (sometimes with umbrellas) and no sandbags. I have had them bumped into multiple times and never had any lights fall.

Sturdy but light weight weight compared to my C-stand, and a whole lot easier to use and carry around when I don’t have an assistant,

This thing is great. I use it as a camera tripod. I livestream performances of my grade school bands and it allows me to get a great overhead shot of an ensemble without obstructing audience view. Love the compressed air.

A couple of times a year I have a need for a 13' light stand. I have 2 that I purchased from a different vendor several years ago. They are ok for speedlights but putting a strobe on them made me nervous. When I opened the Savage 13' light stand I was immediately struck by the heavy construction and excellent materials. I will not worry about putting a strobe on these light stands. The price is great as well!

I have been using these light stands for years. Very sturdy. A little heavy , but a workhorse.

I have bought four of these stands so far, I am using them for my home studio of 4 Einsteins. I was looking for a bag to hold those. I wrote to Lightware asking whether their 50 inch Light stand sack (C6150) will hold those 4 stands. I am pasting their response, it may be useful for you. "Yes, they will fit. This is a good bag for just carrying stands around in the back of your car. There is no padding in this case, just so you know. Should you want a more protective case, we have a 50" Flip Lid they would fit into http://www.lightwareinc.com/site/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.product_display&Prod_ID=161&Cat_Name=Cargos|Stands|Sacks&Cat_ID=9 or even our Cargo 52 can handle these. You can also fit a good sized tripod plus the stands in the Cargo 52 plus other location necessities like gaffer's tape, clamps, gels, cords and cables etc.. There is a 1/2" closed cell foam in these which gives suitable protection for stands. http://www.lightwareinc.com/site/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.product_display&Prod_ID=30&Cat_Name=Cargos|Stands|Sacks&Cat_ID=9 Or if you want a case that has wheels, there is the RC1048 http://www.lightwareinc.com/site/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.product_display&Prod_ID=292&Cat_Name=Cargos|Stands|Sacks&Cat_ID=9 If your needs are simple, then the C6150 is a great bag to carry your stands and they will fit."

This light stand is really a lot more solid and functional than I expected for the price.

I use it indoor and outdoor, the legs and extension poles move smoothly into position. The available 90 deg position for the screw stub comes handy sometimes. I have 3 other stands, different models, but this is the one I tend to pull 1-st.

For the money I doubt it gets better. Nicely air cushioned, easily holds large monolight with 30x60" softbox. Not the most heavy duty when fully extended, and like many light stands it arrives with some oil on the sections, but it's a good, steady, tall stand for most uses.

This is the third Savage 13' Heavy Duty AC stand that I have purchased. They are great if you don't overload them and take care of your equipment. Great product for the cost.

This is the best stand I have ever purchased in this price range! I have tried other brands $50 dollar light stands and keep kicking myself for not just going with another one of these. I have 2 other brand lightstands to return and will be purchasing more of these wonderful stands !

These stands are not what you would consider "professional grade," however, they are sturdy enough for everyday use in my portrait and wedding photography. I carry two of them in a Flashpoint 46" Tripod case. I would not consider them to be heavy for their size. Neither would I consider the plastic sleeves to be problematic, unless you are the type that throws your equipment around, and use brute strength to tighten. For the price, you really can't beat the value.

This stand is very sturdy and gets very high ( I never need to extend it all the way). Strong and has a solid base. Will get one soon to adapt a boom arm for hair light.

As indicated above, the metal iself does not seem to be of the strongest. I have three of these. The top that holds the stud seems to be a little wobbly on one of them. Not sure I´d feel comfortable leaving a head and a beauty dish mounted overnight. But all in all a good product, considering the price. Huge footprint and pretty stable.

I love this stand...I have two! I shoot on location only, so I need my light stands to be somewhat portable, yet sturdy. This stand is both. I use it with speedlights and umbrella or softbox.

My first light stand and after thorough research, I decided on this one. I bought 2. They are sturdy. I would definitely buy more if I need them.

Good Studio stand. Tall extension and strength for the price however not a compact stand more suited for studio than a kit.

I wanted to purchase a stand that would NOT fall over and would support my remote light with trigger and a 42" umbrella. My "cheapie" stand that I had COST me a $ 250 Radio Popper trigger and almost cost me a 580EXII Light too, when they both went into a creek ! So it was time to purchase something more stable and I am 110% satisfied with this stand and will be purchasing additional units. Extremely easy to use, Sturdy, WIDE BASE !!! I was actually suprised at the quality and how heavy duty it really is, also I can put my light up high for groups so I don't cast the nasty overlap shadows. You will be impressed with the stand for the mere price your paying.......... I know I was !

NOTE: This stand is FORTY-seven inches long when fully collapsed - not thirty-seven as the description says. Max leg spread is 44 inches (tip to tip). The legs are tubular and approximately an inch in diameter. The base section is about 1.25 inch diameter. The leg/bottom brace attach points and column caps are plastic, with metal inserts for the locking screws. The leg braces are riveted to the legs and attach points. Don't expect it to stand up to abuse like a $200+ stand, but it's sturdy and worth the price. I'll have no hesitation using it with big brollies or a boom around clients. Expect to weight it outdoors and avoid over-tightening the locking screws and it should last a long time. I plan to buy more - and a longer carry bag.

Bought these to hold AB 800s and a huge light box . Holds both with ease. Big wide base, will still probably throw some weight on it for outside, but inside holds without a problem.

I've been searching for a heavy duty stand for couple of months. I ordered a large softbox and everyone stated a heavy duty stand is a MUST. The prices for a heavy duty air cushion stand before i found this was around not cheap. I was surprise to see this at the price it was offered. Cheap price for a cheap product, right? Wrong. I was dead wrong. This is one sturdy and impressive stand. way better quality than I expect and performs flawlessly. I like this product so much Im gonna purchase 2 more. It's that impressive.

Great stand
By Cap'n J.
Just received my second one of these stands. I do not use these every day, but they are very sturdy, easy to set up and I am sure will last me for years; but I take real good care of my equipment. I use them with Bees and boxes, if I were using them every day, I might buy heavier ones. But they are tough! And fit my needs!!!
