It stays where you lock it and is extremely stable. Adorama?s price makes it the best mini boom stand value out there right now.

I picked this brand because i had already purchased a full size stand made by the same company and it turned out to be good quality. I didn't want to spend much, and most cheap mic stands are poorly made, but this is pretty good for the dough.

Perfect for tight spaces (drum kits in the studio). Nice weighted base keeps things stable. I have used it to mic gtr/bass cabs. Even works on my workstation desktop for VO work. Thumbs up.

Simple and low profile. Strong enough to support a stereo pair of mics. Well built and the design makes it very versatile.

Despite reviews elsewhere that complained about this item's tendency to tip over, I have had no problems with it using a MXR condenser mic in it's shock spider. It does help to have one of the legs in line with the mic, but I am using it with the boom extended all the way. The tilt lock clamp is more than satisfactory as well. I'm glad I bought this due to its versatility!

I have been a live sound engineer for just about 30 years. I've worked for major sound companies, been on world tours, etc.. and used the finest equipment available. However, I also own a small sound company of my own. I do small local events of all kinds. From bar bands to school plays... public speeches to cocktail parties. In my search for affordable mic stands, I stumbled on these to cover my short boom needs. They have proven to be good stands. They would not necessarily hold up to big sound company/world tour type abuse. But anything short of that, they should do very well for you. The elbow lock down solidly, even bigger/heavier mics. There is a nice range of adjustment as well. I would not assemble and disassemble them too often, as the threads would probably wear out. But if you keep them together and take reasonable care of them, they should last a long time. I use them for pretty standard stuff... snares, guitar amps, floor rooms, hi-hats, and the like. Another tip to add to longevity, is to not tighten stuff down too hard. It's not necessary and again, you'll wear out the threads.

I'm a DJ I use this mini boom stand table top, what's so great about it is it's not bulky very easy to pack. it gets the job done whether I'm using it to mc or if I choose to use it for live performance. I can't really say what's wrong with it cause I haven't experienced any problems as of yet. I do highly recommend this purchase.

"My first impression of this stand was that it was made well and the heavy-duty base prevents tipping. Heavier mics may require some counter weights to avoid tipping, but it's an excellent mini stand for the cost."
