There are really good things and not so good things about this stand. PROS: heavy construction, many adjustments for leg length and height and uneven surfaces. I never felt like it was unstable. CONS: It is very heavy and difficult to carry. All the different latches and legs and whatnot make it difficult to hang on to when moving. Due to all the options it seems to take longer to get setup place to place. And it is so big that you need to retract legs etc to get through doorways or it is a pain. I'm glad I have it in my toolkit but I don't feel this will be my run and gun stand.

These stands are GREAT! I have almost quit using my C-Stands as these are lighter and hold up better in the wind with the variable legs. I love the gas filled drop system so they don't fall down fast when releasing the extensions.

The light stand looks very attractive, but it fact, the top part is very weak, thin, and shaky. Even if you put the beauty dish, it is not stable. Not happy.

I'm 6'2" and not a little guy, this is the heaviest stand that I've come across shy of my studio C stands. This is not a mobile stand for the field by any stretch of the imagination

I have had this stand for about 4 months. I have used it lightly- 4-5 times a month. One of the shocks in the poles is not working correctly. It is either really hard to get it to go down, or falls completely down. Only a 90 day warranty on it so I guess I am SOL. Kinda cheapy as I have never had any issues with the cheap stands I have bought in the past and thought I was investing in a quality light stand that would be around for a while.

Loved the concept, but wouldn’t trust it to hold a light. Especially outdoors with so much as a breeze. Very flimsy and wobbles. Used it once and had anxiety the entire time. Could be awesome if it were built better. Don’t buy it unless you want to waste $ for no good reason.

In Oklahoma we always have wind! I purchased this on the recommendation from a friend and glad I did. It's a little lighter duty/weight and "flexy" than I expected but it has yet to blow over. This was a lot to pay for a lightstand but if it saves a light and box from crashing it's worth it.

This is a great “tweeter”, its heavy duty but light enough for location shots. The moveable third leg gives you unparalleled terrain flexibility and the neck is capable of accepting a full pin for my strobe. I guess I just love this thing.

A little heavy to carry around, but VERY steady. Where I would have to use sand bags before, the stand is more steady especially when you can widen the stance. I really like the tripod like leg system. Works well for uneven surfaces.

Great stand, like having a portable c-stand that can be used on uneven surfaces. Brilliant

I absolutely recommend this lightstand. I've only had this for a few days (the 10 foot version), but three things that really stand out for me. First is the ability to place this stand just about anywhere when on uneven terrain. Second is the large footprint, almost like a tripod, with a huge amount of stability. I can see it eliminating or reducing the need for sandbags when other stands would ordinarily topple over. Lastly, by tucking the single adjustable leg (and still be on the ground), I can place this lightstand right up into a corner of a room or next to a wall allowing me to work in smaller locations.. This thing is absolutely genius. Can't wait to try it out more. This is by far the most versatile lightstand I have ever used, by a mile...

Although I just received this stand, I definitely see all the possibilities and potential. I love the weight, which may be heavy for some but since I've had the lovely experience of my studio lights falling during outdoor shoots the weight is very welcome. The angles of which you can place this stand is crazy and could have come in handy MANY, MANY times in the past. The carrying bag is of nice quality too. I'd get another one if I thought I truly needed it but I tend to shoot with only one of my 3 strobes most shoots hardly ever needing 2 or more. So maybe the 6' version would also be nice to have for fill lights if needed. Either way I'd get one.

I would highly recommend this stand if you work in a small space or on location. It makes it so easy to set up on uneven land or in a corner and it is heavy enough to not need a weight if there is only a light breeze.
