This product accomplishes two goals. One, it is an excellent way to make use of the otherwise useless side panels of a rack system. Two, it provides an out-of-the-way and out-of-sight place for items that are both difficult to rack and unsightly. For example, currently mine is supporting a coax distribution unit and an HDMI switch. Both would take up valuable shelf space on the rack and neither would add to the visual appeal of the rack. It's structurally solid and mounts nicely in the square holes with the included hardware.
