Review Summary
For many years Forensic Science has been proactive in identifying "obvious evidence" at crime scenes. However with significant advances, it is now possible to detect evidence which is not only extremely delicate, but also invisible to the naked eye. It is now standard to use Stepping Plates at all major scenes in order to create a pathway through a scene thereby ensuring a methodical, clinical approach to the preservation and gathering of trace evidence.
The Standard Back Pack Kit has the convenience of being a small and lightweight product which can be carried on the crime scene officer's back freeing their hands to carry other forensic equipment, such as fingerprint kit and evidence collection kits.
Plates should always be used in conjunction with the Rubber Pad Kits (small rubber pads which are applied to the feet of each Stepping Plate which must be then be removed at the end of the investigation and bagged and tagged for any evidence or disposed of as clinical waste). Non-slip overshoes are also recommended.
