These Samson headphones are great. Very comfortable to wear. They have a nice cloth ear pad to make them even more comfortable. I think this also makes them sound better too. Of course Adorama service is great as always. I love this place.

Fantastic over the ear headphones! Great clarity through the highs, mids, and lows. Heads up though, the ear pads do get warm after awhile. Aside from that, VERY happy with my purchase!

Very bright, lots of high end, though I've only got about 2 hours of time on them, so still breaking in. Analog recorded music sounds fairly hissy. Mid range is slightly subdued; bass is flat and tight. Build quality is mediocre. I feel I will need to be gentle with them or they may break. Cord is noisy, as are the hoops on top. They are quite pleasant to listen to and very musical. I can see them becoming a good reference set for my audio recording needs. Final note: the are definitely open back headphones. You will hear everything in the room you are listening in and everyone in the room will hear what you are listening to.

Yes, I recommend the headphones. Comfortable and sound great. Exactly what I was looking for.

Awesome monitoring on the cheap. Warm, but plenty of detail. No fatigue noted on moderately loud program material, passionate rock or light jazz. Open-air design; hugs the head. Super comfortable until I've worn them an hour or two. After that, one ear or the other complains of too much pressure. That may be because I slip one side slightly off the ear to hear more of my voice. Basement, yes I know.

So far I've used Sennheiser,Beats,KOSS, and Equation Audio headphones. I like the sound quality of these because they help you to enjoy your music. It is important to add DAC to your phone or ipod.

I'm not any particular audiophile but I do have a sort of sensitivity to notes, pitch, tone, distortions, hisses, statics, those sorts of things. I find these headphones to have excellent clean sound with good range (I can't say for sure because I don't have any uncompressed music anymore) and a very nice level of bass, not too heavy but far from absent. Also, I'm pleased to have learned what open back and closed back headphones are, and am happy to have these nice open back headphones because many times I will be using them but do need an awareness of what's happening around me.

Used my new Samson headphones on their first location shoot last weekend: they're serious looking, very comfortable to wear for long periods, and audio quality is clear and crisp. Not a life-changing experience, but a very acceptable piece of equipment at a price that won't break the bank when they get broken or go missing while on location.

Specs on these headphones are very good. I use them for music via PC and the sound is very good. Minor downside is no volume control on the headphones.

These have great sound and the construction will take the abuse we give them on location recording.

I got these headphones to replace a set of headphones I wore through (all the padding). I care about audio quality, but needed to work within a reasonable budget. I work from home and have these on for ~8 hours/day. First thing I noted is that they are extremely light. Which made them super comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The sound quality was good (although I went from noise-canceling headphones, so this was a bit of an adjustment). So far, I'm extremely happy, and hope that the ear padding lasts.

I was looking for an open back set and this one fits the bill. The only downside is that they are bigger than I thought.

I have used different types of Gaming Headphones for years, but always wear them one ear on, one ear off. This is so that I can hear when people that are talking to me. These headphones are GREAT. These are the entry way towards great media. They also make you feel 'less confined' in your sound space. Also, the suspension system with the band is awesome, and doesn't feel like anything's resting on your head. Don't be worried about the adapter tip. It unscrews to reveal a 3.5mm port.

As a child of the 60's, I like to listen to music, primarily from my MP3 players (Sony Walkman, Creative Labs Zen, and SanDisk Sensa Clip+) so I can listen without disturbing my wife. In-ear phones are nice, but can be uncomfortable over time. I was intrigued by the specs and reviews, though few, of the Samson SR850 over-ear phones. They turned out, in my opinion, to be very good, but just short of great. The treble is crisp and clear and better than all my other earphones, but the base just fell short. It's very good, but I do love a deep base when listening to Rock. I compared them to four other pairs of head phones that I've accumulated over the years and, when listening to the same songs with each, came up with the following order: 1. Sony MDR-XB400 on-ear phones; Some might consider the base over emphasized, but I do love a deep base and these Sony ear phone deliver the sound I love. 2. Samson SR850 over-ear phones, that I just bought: The very crisp treble and good base definition put these solidly in second place. 3 Panasonic RP-HTX7 over-ear phones: Nearly as crisp treble with almost as good base sound. They are small closed back ear phones and are very comfortable. 4. Sennheiser HD280 Pro over-ear phones: These sound almost as good as the Samson phones, but are large and a bit tight on the ears, which drops them from 3rd place to 4th place. After 20 minutes or so, I need to take them off. 5. MG900 over-ear phones: These are just OK, though comfortable. They were a bargain and I got what I paid for. All 5 ear phones are closed back EXCEPT for the Samson, which should make them less hot on the ears over time, though my wife can hear the music coming out the back when she gets close to me. If I'm listening to other music, say folk, I would grab the Samson phones for the overall quality reproduction. Bottom Line: I like the Sony best due to the base emphasis but the overall sound of the Samson is excellent. That said, I still much prefer my Symphonized NRG Premium Genuine Wood in-ear phones for short periods of time (less than an hour). The sound is AMAZING and at significantly lower volume settings on my MP3 players. Like all my in-ear phones, however, I cannot keep them in for hours at a time. Of course, these opinions are based on my personal music tastes and preferences. "Your mileage may vary."

I do not do sound design, mixing or audio work, just audio with respect to video. These provide excellent quality for the cost, in my untrained opinion.

I bought these for my office because of the loud open space environment and I must say they sound really nice and even though they are semi open back, they do isolate me well because of the great bass response. They also are very comfortable. I've had them on for a few hours at a time more than once and never felt any discomfort. Overall the sound they produce is really nice, but I think they are too heavy on bass to be good mixing headphones. The mids and highs are great. Good music listening headphones. (I also own AKG K240's which look very similar. The AKGs are definitely more transparent sounding which is what you want for mixing).
