I just received the unit and am using it. My purpose is not on a stage or performance venue. Only for ease in my small studio. Obviously no cords making it easier and faster to practice and no cords all over the floor to trip folks walking around. NOW, the issue I do not think it matches the sound of a guitar cord. Seems a little hollow and possibly a slight tendency to produce faint echo type sound. Is it acceptable ? Possibly and a little more use and I will now but it is absolutely different that a direct cord input. I am not knocking the unit and telling you not to purchase one, just a little heads up on what " I " noticed. If things change I will be the first one to add to my review. Stores seem to have a trial period so you really have nothing to loose except a few dollars shipping it back. So, give it aa try, You will probably end up keeping it ..It sure is quick and easy.

The new AirLine 88 guitar unit was supposed to be out long ago. I was upgrading from a old Concert Series III that I've had since the 90s and was dead set on going with another Samson product. So far I like what I see, but have not yet used it in a live gig. If it works as well as the previous one, I'll be satisfied. I would have kept the old one, but UHF invites more interference. The biggest disappointment so far is the plastic chassis and flimsy plastic rack adapter for half space mounting. Not near as nice as the rugged metal used on previous units. That is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.
