The Samson VR88 Velocity Ribbon Microphone with Shockmount features a low mass, 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon suspended within an intense neodymium field, producing a warm and natural sound across its frequency range. The VR88's FET amplifier and transformer provide the high output and stabilized source impedance necessary for compatibility with any mic preamplifier.

The VR88 has a figure-8 polar pattern and is capable of handling SPLs of up to 137dB, making it an excellent choice for electric guitars, vocals and acoustic instruments. It requires 48V of phantom power and provides enough output to capture even soft sources. The VR88's rugged die cast body is further protected by the included shockmount and protective carry case.
