This ultra-thin filter wheel, with a thickness of just 0.55" (14 mm), is a perfect addition to your camera system, adding minimal back focus. The AFW-10-50SQ Filter Wheel is part of the AFW series, which is compatible with all SBIG cameras that use "STX" style adapter plates. This includes the advanced Aluma AC CMOS models and the legacy STX and STXL models. Designed to accommodate a wide range of filter sizes, the AFW-10-50SQ Filter Wheel comes with convenient spacers. These spacers allow for easy alignment with 3 mm, 2 mm, and 1 mm filters, providing flexibility and versatility to your photography.Installation is a breeze with the AFW series filter wheels. You can quickly install them onto your camera without the need to remove the carousel or individual filters. Access to filter slots and camera mounting screws is made easy by removing a single access cover. The design includes two captive mounting screws under the carousel, accessible by manually turning the carousel to align access holes with the screw heads. The remaining screws are freely accessible, making installation and removal quick and easy.The AFW-10-50SQ Filter Wheel also supports dual wheel control for users requiring more filters. This feature, however, requires an Aluma AC series camera and MaxIm LT or MaxIm DL Pro software. A special adapter is used to stack two AFW series wheels, and a matching three-port low-profile cable is included for connecting the two wheels to the camera's control port.The AFW-10-50SQ Filter Wheel is compatible with the StarChaser SC-3, providing self-guiding in front of the filters. It also works seamlessly with the popular AO-X Adaptive Optics unit, ensuring the tightest possible star images. This filter wheel is a must-have tool for capturing high-quality, professional-grade images.
