The Aluma 3200 is equipped with two-stage cooling, USB 2.0, and optional Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n interfaces, ensuring reliable and efficient operation. It features an ultra-reliable even-illumination shutter and a fast, low-noise readout, delivering superior image quality with every shot.
One of the standout features of the Aluma 3200 is its compatibility with a wide range of operating systems. Whether you're using a tablet, smartphone, Windows, Macintosh, or Linux PC, you can operate the Aluma 3200 with ease. It also supports a wide array of accessories, including the 8-position FW8S-Aluma filter wheel, StarChaser SC-2 off-axis guide camera, AO-8A Adaptive Optics accessory, and Remote Guide Head.
The Aluma 3200 boasts one of the most sensitive front-illuminated CCD sensors ever made, with a peak Quantum Efficiency of over 80%. This 3.2-megapixel high-performance CCD sensor, with 6.8-micron pixels, ensures exceptional image quality.
The Aluma 3200 is available in two versions: the standard version with both USB and Wi-Fi interface, and the lower-cost Aluma U series with only the USB interface. Regardless of the version you choose, you can expect fully-documented and supported drivers for all platforms, including ASCOM drivers.
The Aluma 3200 also includes our powerful new SmartCooling technology. This advanced feature combines a two-stage cooler, powerful fans, and a heat sink designed using thermal flow simulation to achieve a typical cooling delta from ambient of -50C. This ensures optimal performance and longevity of your camera, even in challenging conditions.
All Aluma models, including the 3200, come with our MaxIm LT software for Windows, a special version of MaxIm DL specific to our cameras. This software provides complete control of your camera, filter wheel, and autoguider, plus advanced image processing capabilities. For even more processing and analysis capabilities, you can upgrade to MaxIm DL Pro for complete observatory integration.
