Save the past!

Anyone who has been in "computers" for more than, oh, 15-20 years, has piles of floppy discs that can't be accessed by current "modern" computers. And perhaps the external disc readers you had standing by -- 15, 20 years ago -- just don't seem to work. Kinda frustrating . . . but there is a solution! Sabrent SBT-UFDB 1.44MB External USB 2X Floppy Disk Drive. Works on all of my new and older computers (Win 10, Win 7, Win XP). Of course, , , now I have to look at all of those discs!

Sabrent Floppy disk drive

This product worked on 1st attempt out of the box. This device enabled the transfer of files from old computer with 3.5" diskette to be transfer to new desk top computer. I can recommend this product based on my positive experience.

OK but....

No installation instructions in the box. The included sheet did reference the web site. Instructions there were good. Model No. on drive did not match that on the box (which apparently was correct). Will not read 720K floppys.

Not Recommended.

This drive is alright for reading floppy disks, but it rarely succeeds in writing files that can be read by another floppy drive. Since I bought it to help put files onto an old computer I own for playing vintage games, it doesn't do me a lot of good.

Excellent buy

I work with a local historical society. We received a number of 3.25 in discs with photos we needed to download. Needless to say, our current computers did not have a drive for these. We purchased this drive and were in business in no time. We are very happy with the customer service and product.

This is a worthwhile product.

Finally. A 3 1/2 floppy drive that is compatible with Windows Vista, 7, and 8.1. I have a Sony Mavica camera that I can now use again. Also I have many old photo floppies from ages past that I can now read and many old programs on floppy discs that I have been able to use again. The 3 1/2 floppy is not quite dead, yet.

2nd attempt works just fine

First one shipped was DOA. HP was good at replacing it, and this second one works just fine.

Loooks nice

Unlike the previous one you left, this one registered with the computer even though it wouldn't read the disks. (the first one ran continuously and loudly, did nothing else but at least gave back my disk.) The returns people were very courteous and the replacements were delivered more promptly than I expected. I'll be calling about the third one on Monday.

The Sabrent 1.44MB External USB 2x Floppy Disk Drive is an excellent way to gain access to any information or data located on legacy floppy discs. While the PC industry has moved on, there might still be important information stored on on these older style floppy discs. The Sabrent floppy disk drive connects to an available USB port, adding an A-Drive to your computer. Best of all, it is plug and play and no drivers are needed.
