This high-quality kit includes the CMC 6U Amplifier, MK 8 Bi-directional Capsule, SG 20 Stand Clamp, B 5 Popscreen, all in a sleek matte gray finish. The CMC 6U Amplifier, an essential component of the Colette series, is designed to connect the capsules of condenser microphones to microphone cables or inputs. It's compatible with both standard 48- and 12-Volt phantom powering, automatically adjusting to the supply voltage. This versatile amplifier provides the electrostatic charge needed for the capsule to produce a signal, amplifying the minuscule current contained in this signal. With its symmetrical, transformerless, direct-coupled Class A output stage, it offers low impedance, low distortion, and high freedom from interference. The MK 8 Bi-directional Capsule is a true dipole transducer with a single diaphragm. It features a figure-8 pattern with near-ideal consistency across the frequency range, making it optimal for use in M/S and Blumlein stereo recording. The capsule is side-addressed, with its main axis at a right angle to the capsule, marked at 0deg. and 180deg. with a red and a black dot respectively.The SG 20 Stand Clamp, with a 5/8"-27 NS internal thread, is designed for a microphone of 20 or 21 mm diameter. It comes with a threaded adapter for 3/8" and 1/2" mounting, and the angle can be varied continuously in the vertical plane. Its robust and non-scratching plastic clamp ensures your microphone is securely held.The B 5 Popscreen, an acoustic foam close-speech popscreen, provides sufficient protection at normal speaking distances for cardioids and other directional capsules.
