Works like it is supposed to
Arrived quickly. Did what it was supposed to. I transferred hundreds of raw files to the drive. All went quickly and no problems. Good buy.

Exactly What I Needed
One computer with Type C ports. One computer with type A. Ordered two with 56Gb capacity and liked them so well I turned around and ordered two with 256GB

Makes transfer from phone simple
So far so good. Built well and very convenient to use. Only drawback is the heat generated when saving large files.

Okay but gets hot
Works well, fast. Convenient to have typeA and C plugs. Only con is it gets hot. It can't be good for reliability or long term use in car

Top of the food chain!
Once again sandisk lives up to its name. The sandisk ultra drive with dual input allows you to use it for old as well as new machines. The performance is super-fast and with it being 256 GB big there is plenty of storage. I use it for dropping files and movies to watch on my laptop. So glad I made the purchase!

It's functional
I got the 512gb version during a daily deal sale a few weeks ago because it seemed like a good price for the storage capacity, reviews seemed favorable, and it has both a USB-C and USB-A ends, theoretically making file transfers from older to newer hardware faster than using an C-to-A adapter, and more secure than having an external hard drive hanging off the end of a laptop.
In the end, it works. It's functional. It's not great, and frankly, I'm a bit disappointed with the transfer speed on the USB-C side. I have two Samsung T7 Shield SSDs that transfer data between 15mb and 15GB all within a minute or less, but I can't say the same when I try to move files from one of those T7s to this Sandisk flash drive. Again, it's functional enough to get the job done, but I was hoping to use it to store copies of rendered videos from an offline editing machine and plug it into an online machine to upload to frame.io or social media. While this could technically achieve that, it'd still be faster for me to have just unplugged my SSD from my offline machine, and plugged into into my online machine for uploading the files.
My other idea would have been to keep it plugged into my offline editing machine and install my programs on there with a folder for autosave files so that my internal hard drive doesn't get clogged up. But I'm afraid this probably wouldn't be able to run any programs at a reasonable speed due to the transfer speed, so I won't even try that.
Also the way one end of the flash drive will always be exposed (unless I get a special travel case), it seems like a recipe for dust and dirt to get in easily. I actually saw a similar concept to this flash drive from OWC, just slightly larger and with end caps to protect the connectors, unlike this one which leaves the open end exposed. Although if one end does go bad, I'm not sure if the other end would still remain usable. Again, I've only had it for a few weeks so only time will tell, but presumably and hopefully not.
Lesson learned, just because I see a good deal, doesn't mean it'll magically add any benefit to my workflow if I don't research its specs properly.

Wow is about all I can say
So much storage in such a little package. It's great and the combo of USB c and USB a makes it a great thing to offload from about any of my devices.

Simple Elegance
The only way this design could get any simpler would be to remove the swivel -- but then you'd lose the lanyard hole and dust protection for the side you're not using. You're also paying a premium for the Sandisk name. But hey it's your data.

Great product
Small, best of both worlds, so fast on upload and download.
Holds loads of stuff downloaded, photos and documents.
Bought 2 one a 256 and a 512 did not even need the 512 yet, maybe
use this weekend for my slides I am scanning.

Data storage-portable

Hardware is aces
The hardware was great, although I didn't know I needed an OTG thing to connect it to my phone. The Sandisk app that goes with it did almost everything, except notice I had an add on memory card that needed to be included in the backup.

Great way to transfer data between devices!
Great way to transfer data between devices! My personal laptop only has USB-C ports but my work laptop is old school and only has legacy ports. This was a simple solution to be able to transfer data between my devices without needing an adapter.

Mostly great
Looks great. Finish and materials feel nice. Transfer is fast and utility of dual interface is fantastic.
Only knock I can give this is that the mechanism that ?locks? the fob in 1 of 2 positions feels cheap and loose. Nothing to keep me from using it or recommending it, but it was a bit disappointing for a ?Luxe? product so it felt worth mentioning.

Type C USB memory stick with quality build.
We like the quality feel of this USB. It is fast transferring files. Having the option of using the type C or type A connection is very nice.

Just the ticket. I have a video recorder with usb type A connection only, while my new computer has only thunderbolt connections. Use to use a Type C to type A adapter to transfer files. This SanDisk Altra Dual Drive lets me transfer files directly at near four times the previous speeds. .

Reversible thumb drive works well and well-built
This is a wonderful thumb drive with reversible connectors so you can use it with windows or Mac. Very well made of aluminum and sturdy.

Good USB-C drive but not durable over time
The drive is very convenient as it offers both USB-A and USB-C connectivity which is great for transferring files between different systems. However, the slider is broken after 2 years and you can no longer slide the thumb drive out.
