Goodness Gracious
This is thing is good - reeaaalllly good. Once your ears taste the dead silence of these preamps, there ain't no going back. The small touch screen is working better than I expected. The on/off button placement and usability is not the greatest, but the sound fidelity from this unit makes up for any of the little problems. Way to go Sound Devices!

It is what you think it is, so I won't go into that, If you looking at it then you know. So, one gripe: The battery tray is finicky and plastic. It's the only cheap-ish aspect to this whole thing. But it's not really important. I won't be using batteries like that, I'll be powering it through the usb-c connector always. If you're going to be attaching it under a camera or other thing temporarily with the 1/4 20 then just slip that allen wrench in your pocket, that magnet is strong! 32bitfloat...

Your MixPre-3 II is highly customizable to your needs. Record internally to a compatible SD card on set or stream your podcast over USB to your computer at home. Power with your computer, wall power, or record in the middle of nowhere with AA or Sony L-mount batteries. Adjust limiters, bit depth, sample rates, gain, pan, low-cut, phase inversion and phantom power to your liking. Trigger your camera with the internal timecode generator, or feed timecode in via HDMI or Aux In. The choice is yours!

Customize With Plugins
The +2 Plugin expands the MixPre-3 II from a 3-channel/5-track recorder to a 5-channel/7-track recorder by adding channels 4 and 5. Suppress background noise instantly on location with the NoiseAssist plugin for MixPre II Series. One instance of NoiseAssist can run on any channel, bus L, or bus R. The two-instance NoiseAssist plugin can run on two channels, both mix tracks, or one channel and one mix track.
Using multiple microphones with your MixPre II? Enable MixAssist to reduce unwanted background noise while recording.
