Slow as 1MB/s with some Windows 10 computers and Samsung TV. Fast as 1+GB/s with another Linux computer. Seems like it is recognized as USB1.1 device with max 1.2 MB/s speed on some devices. The reason is unknown. Firmware upgrade is unavailable.

I love these drives! So far they have worked great. I have it formatted to work with my Windows laptop and my Mac mini (exFAT) and it has worked flawlessly. I travel for work and so far I have had no problems transporting this drive everywhere I go. This is actually my second one because it seemed like they were being discontinued and I wanted another one. I was worried from other reviews but I have had no issues so far. Also it was much smaller than I expected!

I formatted it to NTFS and hooked it to my Linksys MR8300 router as a network drive. It's been 6 weeks so far, and the reliability is good. I don't have a Thunderbolt port, so I can't comment on speed, I'm after reliability. I've been using Sandisk and WD products for decades and haven't had any problems, so I expect this to be the same.

This isn't my first G-Drive. They're great. Mty issue was with the supplied usb cables. Specifically the usb-a to usb-c cable. It was unusable and had me scratching my head over 4 hour transfer speeds for 11 gb of data. Swapped the cable to something I had laying around the house and boom I was in business. Lightning fast. Is a good quality usb cable to much of an ask? Seriously disappointed.

I have owned 2 G-drives with hard drives for several years. They continue to work and I like them. This new SSD is great as it is smaller and faster and totally quiet. I am using it with a 2021 iMac 24". I really appreciate that with the new iMac using an SSD and the G-drive being an SSD, then when Time Machine does its backup I do not notice, it does not effect performance.

Would not show up on two different Windows computers. Tried a different cord. Was going to take it back but decided to try to see if it was something fixable. The computer would make the usual sound when you plug in a USB drive. Disk Manager showed it as having no file system. Recreated the partition, assigned a drive letter, and then it worked, but only gave me 1.8 TB and not the full 2.0 TB.

I have been using this 1 TB external hard drive for a few weeks now and have been very pleased with its performance. Files are fast to transfer on and off the drive. The feel of the drive is solid and feels like it has great durability. I would recommend this drive to others in the market of a SSD external hard drive.

Sandisk helped out clutch with this G-Drive! 1 TB is a lot of space and I'm thankful to not have to worry about running out of T space anymore. This G drive is fast and very little lag time in processing. Highly recommend anyone to buy one! Sandisk products have always been a family favorite as we've been buying their products for years. I have had a smaller capacity of this product for backup, and it's been very reliable and a nice small size. So I purchased this larger one, not for backup, but to use as a regular drive for photos.

First off, I love the design of this external G-drive ssd. The design looks very sleek and it is functional for heat dissipation it seems. Seems rugged for sure because it definitely feels well built. It is a perfect size that can be carried anywhere in your pocket. IP67 water/dust resistant and up to 3M1 drop, 2000lb crush resistant which is pretty crazy. Super fast transfer speeds up to 1GB/s read and write. 5 year warranty is pretty sweet. You can't always count on cloud/internet file storage, so this 1TB drive has you covered. This portable drive is super fast at reading and writing via the USB C connection. This is my first solid state external hard drive, and wow is this thing fast! I'm coming from a 1TB HDD (spinning disk) and it's night and day difference. Not only is this SSD lightyears faster than my old HDD, but you can't hear a disk spinning and it's much more durable because nothing is spinning or moving inside. The case on this G-Drive feels super rugged and I know it will take a beating travelling around in my backpack. The 1TB storage is perfect for my photography hobby, and I love that it has an option for encrypting my files with a password for security purposes. SanDisk always has quality products. This drive is no exception. It has ample storage at 1TB and the speeds are great for file storage, media streaming, or media writing. The disk enclosure is really nice as well. It feels sturdy and not cheap. I might snag myself another.

This drive has a high quality construction that just feels solid in the hand while surprisingly small and portable. Even the included connection cables are thicker gauge with beefy strain relief. I'd definitely recommend. I had some challenges with mac OS time machine but figured out quickly enough.

I have an older Mac laptop with only 128GB of storage. I haven't been able to upgrade to the latest iOS for quite some time. Since I couldn't afford to buy a newer MacAir or MacBook, I decide to purchased a G-Drive and make it my startup hard drive. Now I've been able to download and install iOS Monterey. I haven't had any issues with my older laptop. As infrequent as I use my laptop, I couldn't justify spending the money on brand new Mac laptop just so I could get the latest operating system. I'm planning on buying another G-Drive to backup all of pictures and videos that's in my iCloud. The drive is durable, quite, & fast!
