Be at the forefront of sound engineering with the guitaRF Reflection Filter for Guitar Amplifier. This innovative device functions as a Reflexion Filter (RF), an isolator, a double microphone stand, and precision-positioning hardware. It's designed to accommodate both your preferred large-diaphragm condenser or ribbon microphone, as well as a dynamic or small-capsule microphone.
The guitaRF is a one-stop solution for achieving perfect phase alignment between two capsules, delivering maximum impact. It's a trusted tool among our top Front of House (FOH) engineer clients, who have worked with renowned bands like Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Black Sabbath, Paramore, and My Morning Jacket. They've discovered that using a Reflexion Filter in front of their amp cabinets significantly reduces stage bleed into their guitar microphones. This is particularly beneficial when using our popular VR1 and RNR1 ribbon microphones, which naturally have a figure-8 pattern that leaves them susceptible to stage noise.
But the guitaRF doesn't just enhance the FOH mix. When used on a guitar cabinet or drums, it simplifies the multitrack mixing of a live show. Previously, our FOH engineer clients had to create their own custom solutions to manage stage bleed. But with the introduction of the guitaRF, these custom setups are now available as a ready-to-use solution, enabling anyone to achieve their desired guitar sounds with minimal stage bleed and coloration.
The guitaRF's hardware is adjustable across three axes - vertical, depth, and lateral - allowing you to find the optimal spot for any microphone, whether in a shock mount or on a clip. This flexibility enables you to perfectly phase-align both capsules or spread them apart to capture the sounds of both the edge of the cone and the dust cap. The entire filter and microphone assembly can be adjusted vertically to position it precisely over the ideal spot on the speaker cone. If needed, the filter can be detached from its base and mounted on any microphone stand for complete flexibility.
Acoustically, the guitaRF mirrors our top-selling RF-X, featuring a four-layer acoustic filter design. This includes a vented outer composite panel, a layer of acoustic-grade wool, an air gap for low-frequency isolation, and an inner acoustic foam layer. The guitaRF also incorporates a pass-through hole with a rubber-finned grip that securely holds virtually any dynamic or small-capsule microphone on the market. A double-cable clip is also included, which attaches to the back of the filter, eliminating the worry of dangling microphone cables that could unintentionally shift your microphones out of position.
