Hello Friends, My computer is full and so is my 2TB Seagate the 6TB hard drive will be replacing it. I use raw files in my photography so they are large and now I have to off load pics just to add more space. I believe this new 6TB will do the trick. I do have some questions though, do I uninstall my old hard drive and then install the new and store the old hoping it will come back online for me. 2nd I need to know if I leave this plugged in all the time or just once a month for photo backups. 3rd my older Seagate 2TB was constantly interfering with photo downloads when it was not plugged it. It would send me popups that I needed to do a backup and freezing my work time until I did this. I hope this will not be the case with the new hard drive. Any feedback is greatly appreciated as I am about to make the decision to uninstall my older unit. I don't need two devices if only one will be used for future backups. I like the size of this new 6TB unit and I am guessing I can jack my older unit into it and also a cell phone if desired. Where do I find this information to proceed.

Works like it should.
Nice drive. Fast transfers. It was originally hooked up to my iMac. Since then, I got an NAS and now this is attached to that as a backup. So far so good.

Nice drive
Seems to work as it should and fast backups. Easy to setup and just backs up as it needs to do. Very pleased with the drive and the price. Recommended.

There was nothing to dislike about this 6TB product. It met all the requirements that I bought it for. Good product.
This 6TB drive with its USB ports is an excellent product. it was very easy to set up with my Apple MacMini computer. I was able to move files for the computers HD, freeing up a good portion of the 1TB SSD in the computer. I also was able to copy files from several other HD drives to insure adequate backup for my system.

Great big drive!
Great capacity. I didn't realize it needed external power when I ordered it, but it sure is nice to have 8tbs of backup. The hub feature is cool, too

Drive Works Well
The physical size of the unit was smaller than I expected. It seems to be working fine for my purposes. It is acting as the main drive on my iMac. Lightroom accesses the files on the drive with very little problem.

Seagate 6TB USB 3.0 Backup Test
I purchased this for an extra backup of files on my primary computer, it's a 6TB it runs smooth and quite, I have heard that the 8 TB and up virbrate and make noise, so I would recommend this one. As a plus this 6TB Hub has a place on the front of it to plug in 2 other USB Drives or other items!

Great Hard Drive
The external hard drive was exactly as expected. Even though it was backordered, Adorama went above and beyond to expedite the order in a timely manner. I was very well pleased.

It saves information as it should.
Although I just took it out of the box this weekend after ordering it about a month ago it seems to work well. The USB ports on the front are convenient. 4 stars vs 5... its a hard drive, nothing special.

Back it up
After losing valuable files 2 years ago, I have put my trust in Seagate products. I have yet to run into any issues with Seagate and use 3 externals to backup files. I love the simplicity of this product and with 8TB I have enough space for both photo and video projects.

Big data saver
A few years ago I bought a 5TB drive from Adorama. I was pleased the the product and very pleased with the service. Now when I needed more space I came back to Adorama for an 8TB drive. Again the service was excellent and I'm pleased with the product.

Does the Job
Bought this drive to complement another of the same kind of drive. Works as advertised, but the two front-side USB ports are REALLY slow. Not sure why and haven't had time to troubleshoot.

This was a very good expansion to my small internal hard drive
I bought one of these about 6 months ago and it was everything I needed to consolidate 2 smaller external hard drives and my failing lap tops hard drive into one unit connected to my desktop - It worked perfectly. Unfortunately for me the always powered usb hub meant plugging whatever needed to be charged into it at any time, not paying attention I grabbed my wireless headphones (still plugged in and pulled the hub off its shelf where it made an easy eight inch drop to the carpeted floor but had a catastrophic internal failure no longer works - I. lost. everything.... My fault, not the hardwares, but I'm docking it a star for durability as I am now here to purchase a replacement. This one will be securely mounted this time... Lesson learned.

Gobs if space, but not a space saver...
I needed as many TB’s possible and the sale price Dell was offering I bought two to reach 12 TB for use with my WDcloud NAS. Responsive and quite, and spin-up from power-save is quick. My only complaint would be is about the case, WD’s take up less real estate as can placed vertically, whereas this design is long.
Otherwise very, very pleased so far.

8TB Backup Does its Job
Got this to upgrade a 5TB drive, which upgraded a 3TB version. These photo and video collections really grow fast! Transfer via USB3 is as fast as expected, yet transferring the 4+ TB from the old drive still took an overnight session.
FWIW, all of my Seagate backup drives work fine, even the 10-year old. I can still read from my one WD backup drive (2-years old), but can no longer write to it. Sample of one...
