Look No Further

Sennheiser did a outstanding job with this mic. It is so easy for me to recommend this mic because of features like auto on/off, on mic headphone output, built in shock mount, AND built in wind muff. Topping it all off is the audio quality itself, I don?t see why you?d want any other mic.

Fantastic microphone and controls. I live in an apartment. Connecting my headphone directly to the microphone is terrific for monitoring noise.

GENE T  Is this compatible with the NikonD3100 dslr?
MARK F  If that Nikon has a 1/8inch stereo external Mic port then yes. If not, then no :)
Shopper  does it have a mini-advanced shoe?
ANDRAE H  The shoe is a standard shoe mount cold shoe.
JOHN S  This is a great mic. It fits any camera hot shoe but must be plugged in to the audio input port of any still or video camera. The shoe mount on the mic is not live. The wind screen is only good in a light breeze. if you buy it get the "dead cat" that is an option for this mic. Another thing I like about this mic is it's small size it easily goes in my camera bag. it's a great mic for the money

DAN N  Hi Ken, Sorry for late. The MKE 400 is shotgun. I think it's NOT a stereo mic, but i don't understand why it uses stereo jack. Thanks Dan
MARC A  It has a mini-stereo plug on it but it is a single thin unit, so I can't see how you'd get bidirectionality on pickup. I haven't played with it at a wedding or in an auditorium, but in my house it will pick up sound from the other room. It also picks up lens autofocus noise, even when off camera. It is an improvement in range and quality over the built in mike, but not a professional sound solution.
DAMJAN C  It is not a shotgun, but it reduces noise from sides. Very good mic. for dslr camera. For outdoor you should use filter for redusing winter noise.
JOSEPH L  I'm not a tekkie kind of guy. Although it's an excellent mic that I chose after reading numerous reviews, I don't know the specs the shopper is asking about. I decided on it, bought it, use it, and it serves me well. I'd advise the shopper to check reputable review sites, or to Google the company for specs.
