I am quite impressed by my new external archive drive. Plugged in to a SATA USB3.0 port on my Lenovo, it's pretty snappy, even after moving about a terabyte of archived data from my old Canvio drive.

At first when I bought this, I felt like it would fulfill a need based on the space that it provided. However, at not even a year old, I find this HD continually either needing repaired or running into crashing issues when I open it to either access the photos or add to them. I dug deeper and read some reviews on it to find this is a frequent problem with this model. Not sure if I’d buy a replacement of this brand at this point.

It works. I have used it to move files from a machine running Windows XP over to one running Windows 10 with no problem. The packaging for shipping was just a padded envelope, which apparently proved adequate with the manufacturer's packaging. (Which was a bit of a concern as I used to ship remanufactured alloy wheels, and we packed those to survive a 4 foot drop onto concrete, which was adequate for the extreme drops in the sorting and handling equipment of UPS and the Postal Service. )

This was absolutely perfect. I do some video editing at home and I needed an easy way to store the files and then transport them to the office. Since some of the work I do is proprietary, I didn't want to rely on a cloud. This fit the bill completely.

This is an upgrade from my 10 year old WB so I think technology wise anything is an upgrade. It’s lightning fast in comparison about the same physical size and weight is a little lighter. Instructions are not very good and I would suggest a YouTube search if you want to use the seagate preloaded software. All an all I’m pleased with my purchase and would consider this company in the future

Works great but comes formatted for windows!! It needs to be reformatted to work on Apple products. Videos are found on YouTube and it’s an easy enough process. I almost sent it back until I did some research.

Looks like the picture. Mounted thru the USB-3.0 port and was recognized instantly. Seagate is my go-to brand for storage and has been for 20 years.

I needed a external hard drive for use with a note book that only has a 32gb flash type drive in it if I am understanding the storage it has. I only use this computer for surfing the net, word processing and my photography. Works perfectly for this. It small and doesn't take up much stowage room. Seagate make very reliable drives so I would recommend this dive.
