This is a nice and compact storage device. I'm pleased with its performance so far, and my demands have not exceeded the ~20mb transfer speed.

Works as described. I've always used Seagate and don't expect any surprises with this one either. 5tbs for about $100, wow! Can't beat that. I'm currently using it to transfer photo files from my Canon camera while traveling... er i mean, visiting home. Transfers quick and is quiet.

Just used it to offload and format a smaller and older hard drive of mine. So much more space, took a while because of transfer size or something wrong on my end but it was great .

Value priced. Storage is less expensive and I expect it to have Seagate reliability. I am happy with it.

The Seagate 5 TB drive is amazing. I was able to quickly back up my entire HP Z840 Video Editing Computer system as well as offload several large video editing projects.

I got 3 of them for Christmas, 2 as presents for my step-son and husband, and one for me. Mine is used on my laptop as, you guessed it, backup drive for pix/music/ect. My husband's us being used as extended harddrive for his PS4. My step-son's is being used as extended storage on his XBOX ONE X. For some reason the picture on here makes the thing look huge, but it's not, it's normal portable harddrive sized. If you are wondering about using this for space on your xbox/ps4, yes you can and it's not even hard. Just plug it in while the game system is on and it 'should' prompt you to format the drive to be used as extended storage for the game system and tell you that formatting will delete everything on there, but if you just took it out of the box there's nothing on there... Click yes.. If the promp don't come up, settings>storage>extended, then you click the format button and it does it.
