Big & fast

I needed something as an in-house back-up to go with my other off-site options. This works great.

Seagate Hard Drive Works for Me

I shoot thousands of photographs of birds, wildlife and landscapes. The images fill my computer ram and hard drive very quickly. I have found these External Hard Drives work well for me in keeping my computer free of too many gigabytes...

so far so good

I bought this to back up 3TB of data on my Western Digital. I've had it for about a week so I can't comment on its longevity but it's been working well so far. Transfer speed is good with the USB 3.0 connection. Case construction is good though I wish they had made the exterior smooth all around. My Western Digital has this strange behavior of going to sleep even when I tell my Mac in the settings not to put it to sleep. Plus once in a while it refuses to get ejected. This Seagate hasn't shown this behavior but again I've had it for only a week so we'll see. In the meantime, so far so good.

Perfectly Fine -- Except for My Use

I bought this for external storage of Dish Network movies but apparently it being USB 3.0 prevents that use. Earlier USB, 2 TB external drives still work fine. I've had numerous Seagate drives and they've all be good and I'd recommend them -- but not the USB 3.0 version for Dish Network purposes!
