Several steps above the lower level amateur wireless microphones, this Sennheiser set performs really well. Very pleased with audio quality, design, and quick charging. Perfect for those of us with modest budgets and pro dreams.

Steps Above the Budget Wireless Mics

Sennheiser is a fantastic brand, this lavalier is a great wireless microphone. High quality build, simple interface, it looks great, very compact, good sound quality, and it is wireless, I’ve even found that it works quite well even beyond it’s specified range. It is an overall amazing product.

The Sennheiser XSW-D Wireless Digital Portable Lavalier Set works perfectly for the level at which I work. I shoot small, local interviews for which this kit is perfect. Easy to use, affordable, and it impresses clients who aren't familiar with "industry level" gear.

It looks like QA/QC for units is poor, and I expect more from Sennhiser. 

The first set that arrived had a MIC transmitter that was improperly assembled. The PCB board inside the housing was twisted, which resulted in 1. Difficulty pushing the power button 2. Charging cable would not click and lock in place. From the other review, it looks like Sennheiser either needs to improve their QA/QC or hammer down on their comanufacturer. 

Essentially the kit was useless, I had to hold the cable in place to charge it, and turn it on and off was a pain. 

Adorama was a pain in the side to deal with too! Which is very unlike the customer service I'm use to. No one could give me a straight answer on a replacement of just the MIC transmitter, and it sounded like they wanted Sennheiser to replace it, but couldn't provide an ETA. Ultimately, I suggest an exchange after waiting a week for them to open after the holidays, and 3 days of the CS department trying to figure out what to do. However, to exchange the unit, I was asked to ship it before a replacement was sent; 5 business days back to Adorama, with 2 business days process, and another 5 business days to get me a new set. This would have been almost 3 weeks from the original order date to have a working unit. Finally, I had to request they overnight a new unit, via a new order, and handle the return separately. 

I should have just bought this on Big A, would have been a million times easier to deal with. I expect more from both Sennheiser and Amazon.

QA seems poor, Inspect your units

The Sennheiser XSW-D wireless Lavelier set is a perfect fit in my video production arsenal!  I have used sd card systems that have worked great but being able to not have to sync audio is a timesaver in post!  I would highly recommend this system if you want fast, reliable sound at this amazing price!

I have also owned the Sennheiser G2 for over 10 years and very pleased with it. I needed a backup system, so I decided to purchase the XSW-D and have no regrets. It is very sound and reliable from my experience. The only recommendation I would have is to allow for minor adjustments with respect to audio level output. I use it with my Panasonic GH5s and it handles it quite well. Thanks for a very competitive product.

Great product. Small and portable. Easy to use. Only downside is the audio it captures is a little on the bassy side.

Great Product for the Low Cost

So far, this has been perfect for me.  It’s easy, simple and just works without any fuss.  And it’s small!  The sound quality seems good to me too.  The only downside I can think of with this system is not having interchangeable batteries.  I think I will be able to work around this limitation but it’s something to consider.

Great, simple wireless system

I ordered the Sennheiser XS Wireless as soon as it was announced because of how small it looked and the Wi-Fi Tech it uses. I have used a variety of wireless Lav's kits over the years and of my biggest complaints was the size of the transmitters and receivers especially for events like weddings where size does matter. 

Finally, we have a good solution to that and at a good price (especially for Sennheiser) I made a YT video showing this off and comparing the sound to my RodeLINK if you want to check it out just YT search Max Yuryev Sennheiser XS. This Lav Kit is very simple and easy to use but you don't have a display so you have to use the single LED light to see whats happening and the battery life. The built-in battery is one of the downsides but I think that was required to make it this small. 

Overall I think this will sell VERY well at this price point and also because you can mix and match transmitters and receivers for your needs. I'll probably be purchasing the XLR kit as well.
