A simple press of the R1's tailcap switch engages the auto-adjust IntelliBeam mode; however, it can be manually overridden by pressing the switch twice within one second, should you prefer to set the light for maximum output.

There's even a tactical strobe feature, designed to disorient and confuse an aggressor, activated by pressing the tailcap switch a third time. A built-in fuel gauge lets you know when the rechargeable battery is low and the R1 can be easily charged from a wall outlet or in a car with its included charge cord and adapter.
