Among Sigma’s DC Contemporary F1.4 prime lenses, this one wins the “lightest” title. It’s 20% shorter than the Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary, even though it gives you an even wider field of view.
Premium optical design and functionality
Inside this compact beauty are 14 elements in 12 groups. It has two SLD glass elements, three aspherical elements for wider angles, and a high-refractive index dispersion glass for less distortion. The double-concave aspherical rear lens also makes it highly precise for delicate shots.
