Autofocus system failed on the first one, adorama promptly replaced it. Second one works like a charm. Make sure you buy the dock so you can update and calibrate it or it will be worthless.

Like the lens, it is a bit heavier than I anticipated but I planned on using with a tripod. Have not used some of the added items in the package but they were definitely a bonus. Looking forward to a lot of use in the future.

Pretty decent beast of a lens. First one had to go back, because the autofocus quit working, second one was crap out of the box until I upgraded the firmware and now it works great. Hopefully it keeps working great.

This is a fantastic lens for the money. I bought it to shoot primarily from 400-600mm and it does not disappoint. While it certainly isn’t as good as a Canon prime, for the money you cannot beat it. I bought the sport version because of the better build quality and weatherproofing for wildlife photography. Be fair-warned though, it’s heavy. For myself, I struggle to hand hold but love it on a monopod, tripod or bean bag. Great lens for the money when you don’t have a spare $10k for a big prime.

bought the sport for ruggedness and it is definitely well worth it...weight is an issue for my senior arms so I mostly use it on a a very sturdy tripod...but I believe it will last for years...I also like the optimization system...EASY TO USE... ...I use it with my Canon 7D m11 and R5....

I use this for sports (football & soccer) as well as birds and deer in the fields. Great lens, I use it on my Nikon D5 and D500, it is on the heavy side but not a problem on a mono pod or tripod, highly recommend it.

This is a great lens for all around wildlife work. Although it's not meant for low-light conditions, I have found it to be easy to use and very sharp even at full extension when used in daylight. It's pretty heavy but the auto-stabilization is good and I have used it successfully hand held.

This lens as everyone knows is HEAVY @ 6.3 lbs, Nikon 200-500 is 5.1 lbs, and the Tamron 150-600 G2 is 4.4 lbs. I own and have compared them all, I'm not a pixel analyst, but as a photog of 45 years, I can tell a good lens when I use one. I have to say that the Sigma Sports is the least appealing given its weight, after owning one for 2 months I have to say that it bothers me less than the Nikon 200-500. Two main advantages: focusing (during the day) is Faster in the Sigma (Nikon D850 and D500), and Image quality beyond 400mm the Sigma is better (and longer). These two things are enough for me to want to use the Sigma, photography is all about IQ and Focus, the Bigma wins. I also find that the weight distribution of the Bigma is such that it is easier to pan around with it than the Nikon and the Tamron, I found that it is not all about the weight. To me the Tamron comes third, due to slow focus and a softer IQ beyond 350mm, Tamron wins in size and weight and decent IQ. The one bad thing about the Bigma (after the weight) is that it does NOT work with my Nikon TC 1.4 E III, the Sigma TC I tested really affected the IQ, I have to say that the Sigma Sports does not work or like TCs.

First off, this lens is heavy!! But it’s solid and build like a tank.. Add a crop sensor camera to it and you have an effective 900mm focal length.. If you can’t or don’t want to chalk up the 8-15k for a prime this lens will get you threw. I have been very happy with this lens. Mine is on a Nikon D500 and I have zero focusing issues no searching for focus issues and the pictures are just amazing

I am impressed with this lens so far. Still need to test it on smaller subjects in a busier background, but I like the quiet focusing and sharp pictures I get on objects in an open setting. Yes it’s a bit heavy, but I’m having no trouble getting sharp images with the Optical Stabilizer feature.

Amazing lens - great reach and tack sharp at 600mm. But it is a heavy lens and you probably need a support for single spot exposure and focusing shots - hard to keep on the spot handheld. I am using a Sirui monopod with an Oben tilt head - working great. This is an amazing lens - highly recommended.

This is a solid well-built telephoto lens. While it is on the heavy side it produces tack sharp images. It is still too early to give it a full review. But so far so good.

I have not used such a large lens before. It took me a year to decide on buying this lens. It was packed extremely well. To me at first glance this lens was massive. The thing that concerns me most is the weight it's something I'm going to have to get used to. That was my only problem. I like shooting birds and this lens makes me look like a pro. It has great clarity even out to 600mm the pictures stay perfectly focused. I am glad I choose this lens. The more I get used to it I'm sure the better I"ll like it.

II’ve owned the Nikkor 200-500mm 5.6, as well as the Tamron 150-600 and both Sigma 150-600mm telezooms (Contemporary and Sport). The first lens i had on my D7200 was the Nikkor lens. It was great when it wanted to be. After sending it in to Nikon for adjustment, it was pretty sharp with things that were around 20ft away. It always had issues hitting the intended focus point though. I got some outstanding photos at times and it was bearly void of any CA but it was unreliable and the af accuracy was unpredictable, especially with birds on water. I rented the Tamron 150-600mm just to see how it performed in comparison. It did much better with birds on water and rivaled the Nikkor in sharpness, but I still wasn’t sure it was what I was looking for. I sold my Nikkor and ended up buying a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. In my first outing I thought I had received a bad copy and started the return process... the day I was getting ready to return it I realized I had a dog hair between the mirror and sensor in my camera that had been flipping around with the mirror causing the issues I was facing. I took it out for another quick outing before returning it and realized it was an outstanding lens, both in image quality and sharpness! AF accuracy was excellent even with birds on water, and it was consistent! In the meantime I had found a deal on an old manual focus prime Nikkor 500mm lens I couldn’t pass up so I still went through with the return. That ended up being a mistake (at first atleast) because the older prime lens ended up being the softest lens I had ever used! I returned it hoping to snag another Sigma Contemporary, but I was looking for used so I would be able to get a couple other lenses I was wanting as well. When I saw a used copy of the Sigma Sport available at an unbelievable price (although still higher than a new Sigma Contemporary) , I jumped on it and do not regret it one bit!! The Sigma C is extremely close to this lens in terms of sharpness, but it doesn’t come anywhere close to its performance in AF speed and accuracy or OS! This lens autofocuses instantaneously! I can keep the camera on continuous autofocus and go from something at the minimum focus distance to something 1000 ft away and there is no lag! And it does it completely silent! In fact, I took a photo of a Bald Eagle approximately 1000 ft away and you could see the pupils on the eyes... in jpeg format! Additionally, the OS on the Contemporary lens was awesome but on this lens it seems even better! With all this and the fact that this lens is metal and has weatherproofing, I’m amazed! Some have complained about the weight but it’s not an issue for me. I can handhold it just fine. I only use my monopod with it when it’s very windy. The weight seems to help me steady it even better. This lens is truly a beast. I really haven’t had time to get out and put it through its paces but so far it seems liked the extra weight of metal instead of plastic construction makes it a very rugged lens. All the photos I’ve taken so far have been very sharp. There will definitely be a learning curve while I figure out the best way to handle such a monster lens.

This is a good value for the price. Not a sharp as I would have liked. Only really wanted for the 600mm to shoot birds/ducks. Checked focus and was pretty much on using my 7d and 1d, haven't really checked the 5d as I use it for the extra reach on cropped sensors. As the reviews state shooting at f8 cleans it up a bit but am trying to decide if I want to keep it or just shoot my my400L with the 1.4x extender. I will have to test the sharpness side by side. The Canon and extender is a lot lighter and cheaper. Still up in the air but the zoom ability (if you need it) is where this shines. Pics are as sharp as I could get at 600mm on solid stand and mirror lockup.

Bought this lens to replace the older Sigma 150-500 mm and the construction and image quality are superb! I bought this lens to specifically photograph wildlife and it performs extremely well. I paired this lens with a Sirui monopod, beautiful piece of engineering and machining, to be able to photograph for long periods of time. I also attached the Sigma 1.4x teleconverter and images are very sharp.

This lens as it all! It is easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. A bit heavy, but easy to attach to my tripod. I recommend this lens for bird photography.

I have been very pleased with the quality of this lens. The pictures have sharpness that I didn't see from the older Tamron model of the same factor (150 - 600 mm). Definitely worth the money.
