ALTHEA B : Best fish eye lens for canon 77d a sigma lens or?ELISABETH N : I have found this sigma fish eye to be excellent. I would definitely recommend it even though every other lens I own is a Canon. By the way, I sometimes use it with my Canon 7D Mark II and it acts like a wide angle lens. It then has very little distortion and I can totally straighten the little bit there is by using lens Lightroom correction. So, it does double duty for me.LARS L : I am using the Sigma 15mm Fisheye on a Canon 5D and it is fantastic as a specialty lens both in quality and cost.ANTHONY K : Not sure if I can call it the best but for the price it is a nice lens
JERRY R : I have a crop and a full frame camera, but travel primarily with my 70D. Which would be the best lens for landscape photography on my 70D, the 10mm or 15 mm Sigma fisheye lens?LOUIS K : With the 70D and the small sensor the 15mm Sigma is not the right FIsh-Eye Lens. You need the 10mm lens for full rectangle fish eye pics or a 8mm for circular pics- The 15mm Sigma is only good for full frame cameras. It will work with small sensors, but the fish eye effect with wide picture angles is lost. You'll have a wide angle with bended lines. Not so funny.HAROLD T : I have a Canon D60 and find the 15mm fisheye lens works well with my landscape pictures. Since I don't own or never used a 10mm fisheye lens I really can't compare the two or give you the best advice as to which one to purchase. I suggest you do more research if you are not sure.SALMAN A : The 10mm for sure as you will not get the 180 deg FOV with the 15 on a 70DTONY A : The 15mm make pictures look more natural, the 10mm is better for artistic pictures.ROBERT S : It depends on the look you want. The 15mm on a APS-C sensor will not provide as much of the distorted fisheye effect as the 10mm. It will appear as more of a superwide lens with some distortion but will be great on your full frame camera (I use mine of my 5DIII). If you would like the full fisheye effect on a 70D, you would be better off with the 10mm, just remember that it will provide a circular image on the full frame sensor. You can crop this down but really isnt optimal. Another, far more expensive, option is to go for the Canon 8-15mm fisheye zoom lens. While expensive, it will give you the fisheye effect on both of your camera bodies without compromise as well as the circular effect on the full frame if you so choose.
JAMES R : Hi, I'm not sure I fully understand the differences between "diagonal" fisheye, and "circular" fisheye lenses like the ones offered by Tamron in various focal lengths (8, 10, 15 mm). I currently have an APS-sized sensor Canon T3i, but may upgrade to a full-frame 6D in the future, but that notwithstanding, again what is the basic difference between Tamron's diagonal and circular fisheye lenses? Thanks!KOREY G : Hello, I've never used Tamron's fisheye so I not sure, it could simply be a matter of semantics, they're terminology.AARON T : A diagonal or rectilinear fisheye will fill the frame corner to corner for a given sized sensor. Since the 15mm is made for full frame, it'll fill a 35mm sensor from corner to corner. A circular fisheye will be a circle in the center of the frame, with just black space in the corners. On a APS-C sensor, the 15mm won't be as "fishy" as it will be on a FF sensor also.ROBERT S : A circular fisheye will leave a round image with the corners being black other than the circle. The diagonal will have the full fisheye image across the entire frame. Some fisheye lenses (generally those with a very small focal range such as 8mm) will have a circular fisheye on the full frame sensor but a diagonal on the smaller APS sized sensor. The sigma 15mm will be a full diagonal fisheye on a full frame such as the 6D and 5D but will have less of a fisheye effect on a APS sized camera such as the T3i. You can get the best of both worlds with the Canon 8-15 F4L but it is quite a bit more expensive. If you are looking to upgrade, I would suggest the Canon or something like the 15mm Sigma. I suspect you will not like the circular fisheye once you decide to upgrade to the full frame sensor.TERRY R : James, I shoot with a full frame (Canon 5D) using this lens and really like the quality and visual effects from this lens. I've not tried it with an APS-C. Regarding the difference between the types, the discussion below should help explain it. A circular fisheye lens is one which captures a full 180 degree view in all directions. This results in a circular image, with the edges of the frame being black. Circular fisheye lenses cover 180 degrees in all directions, but have black edges. These more extreme fisheye lenses tend to be used for artistic purposes such as skateboard photography or for shooting unusual landscapes and cityscapes. A full-frame fisheye lens only captures a 180 degree field of view along its diagonal. The horizontal and vertical sides of the image are less than 180 degrees (typically around 150 degrees horizontal and 100 degrees vertical). Full-frame fisheye lenses cover 180 degrees along the diagonal only, producing a less wide-angle, rectangular photo without the black borders. Although they do not cover such a wide angle, photos taken using a full-frame fisheye lens are rectangular and do not have black edges. This makes them more suitable for practical purposes such as traditional landscape photography and shooting building interiors.

Sharp, compact rectilinear DX ultrawide fisheye.

Compact, relatively sharp rectilinear DX ultrawide fisheye lens. The only notable con for me was some coma/chromatic aberration.

Sigma diagonal fisheye

Awesome lens on a full frame camera. Especially for architectural photos, particularly indoors.

Great lens, great price!

Absolutely no complaints about this lens. The diagonal pull fills the full frame and still gives that fish eye effect. Crisp, fast focus. And great minimum focus distance. Great lens at a great price.

Awesome for tight spaces

I use this on a Canon 5D and 1D. As a specialty lens it does the job and you can get some unique shots if you spend some time to learn how to use a fisheye. I use it mainly as a "ultra wide angle" lens. Photo image quality is good even in low light conditions. Lens is nice and compact so I carry it with me all the time just in case I need to take a real wide angle photo.

LOVE THIS LENS!!

I've been shooting all Nikon lenses for over 10 years. This is my first experience with any outside lens manufacturer, and I am VERY IMPRESSED! The lens functions flawlessly on my D810 and the image quality is outstanding in my opinion. I spent $ more on my DX 10.5 Nikon Fish, and while it's a great lens, I can't believe how much better this Sigma is. Getting all the accessories in this bundle was a nice bonus. I would highly recommend this lens to any beginner or pro, and I'll definitely be considering Sigma for future purchases.

Fun Fisheye

I would recommend this lens as an alternative to the Canon 8-15 Fisheye. Sharp and fun to use!

Great lens but not for me.

Was just a trial purchase and Adorama conveniently took it back after my short use. Can't beat Adorama,....their customer service policy rocks.

Love this lens

I bought this lens because I wanted to be able to offer a look to my wedding clients that they were not seeing a lot of. It is a lens that get used at almost every event I shoot. I like the lens because it is a fast lens of 2.8 and give me the fisheye look without being to much and can be shot in certain situations to give a very wide angle without too much distortion.

haven't had a lot of experience yet, but the initial photos of hebiscus blooming in its natural environment are quite nice. 4 stares for lack of working experience with the interesting lens.

Great lens

I had the 10mm fisheye lens for my Pentax asp-c camera so when I received my new Pentax K1 I bought the 15mm lens for a full frame camera. The images are sharp and I love the effects you can get with these lens.

Great Full Frame Lens

Purchased this lens to fill a void in my full frame kit for a Nikon Df. Although I have only used it twice, my initial impressions are positive. Auto focus speed is more than sufficient including low light. Color rendition is very good. The vertical fish eye format provides an interesting perspective that in my opinion could be overused to the extent of bordering on cliche. However, it appears to be very capable of producing dramatic images. Initially Sigma had issued an advisory indicating the firmware had some issues with the Df. This appears to have been rectified as I have had no issues with the lens.

Very good lens

Very good lens, needs to be stopped down a little for best results in corners. I tried two new 16mm f2.8 Fisheye Nikkors which were not nearly as good as the Sigma.

Good for a few fun shots

This is my first third party lens, and it is better than I expected. Produces noticeable chromatic aberration under some conditions, but automatic correction in Lightroom took care of it easily.

Better than I expected

Traded a bunch of rarely used lenses for this Fisheye. Have Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L and 70-200 f/2.8 II L, considered Canon 16-35, but too much overlap. The image quality is fantastic. I can't really imagine much better results with any lens ... At a reasonable cost.

Great Diagonal Fisheye

I had wanted a fisheye for some time, but I didn't want one of the fisheyes that was a circle inside a black frame. This diagonal fisheye is what I settled on. I read reviews of the Canon fisheye (which is more expensive, and an f.4), and there is negligible difference, especially considering the price and maximum aperture. Plus, this is a FUN lens, not a work lens! The lens is not "cheap" in terms of price, and definitely not in construction. It's well made, and has a solid feel. There are many auto-focus points that are very usable on this lens, and it locks-in very quickly. The manual focus is easy to use (good grips, smooth action), and has focal ranges marked clearly on the lens body. Reviews cover it, and the lens doesn't hide it - there is some noise when focusing. If you are used to a USM, it is louder than that. If you have ever used the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens, it sounds similar to that during auto-focus.

Very fun lens

I looked into this lens when the Nikon 16mm was out of stock. Reviews looked good and the $300 savings was also appealing. I took it on a photo workshop and was not disappointed. The lens is sharp and has very little flare. I was able to shoot straight towards the sun for "sun star" effects for some great shots. Shooting old trucks was awesome with this lens. All in all, a very fun, lightweight addition to my kit. I'm very glad it bought it.

I really like this lens

Fisheye lens are, in my opinion, meant for creative pursuits. At least that's what I use mine for. This is a very good lens. I have a couple of Sigma lens and they haven't let me down yet. Add this to that list.

Great alternative to Nikon 16mm Fisheye!

Up until now I have been a Nikon purist - I wanted everything to be pure Nikon. I bought this lens because it was $300 cheaper than the Nikon 16mm Fisheye and it is every bit as good! I have not been disappointed yet!

Fast focus and sharp!

If you havent used a fish eye before get used to the field of view! I do have pics with my feet in them, lol. I went with the Sigma over the canon to save cash. good choice in that I use this lens occasionally. it performs well for the money if you dont have L glass money.

A little loud but out performs the Canon

After using the 10mm Sigma Fisheye on my 7D, I needed a lens that would be compatible with my full frame 5D. The 15mm Canon has known issues, those of which the Sigma lack. Although it's a little loud when autofocusing, it's fast and sharp. Even wide open, aberrations are barely present, when compared to the now defunct Canon 15mm. Worth the money and great for video.

excellent fisheye for full-frame

I'm not a fan of the strange two-piece lens hood, or the "wings" of the built-in hood, but otherwise it's a great lens. It even works on my old FM2n!!I read a review by Thom Hogan [@] of the older version of this lens, and it won over the Nikon (which hasn't changed). That got me to try this instead of the Nikon, and I'm grad I did.

Great glass, great buy!

By Jim

This 15mm f/2.8 Sigma lens performed great right out of the box with my Canon 350D. I take astro photographs of the night sky and it grabbed a bunch of sky with very minimal horizon bend. Nice piece of equipment.

Don't hesitate to buy this lens

I'm a Canon user. I have the 5D and the Rebel XT. I've always bought Canon glass because, well...that's what everyone in the know said to do. I'm glad I deviated from that on this lens. The image quality is top notch. Colors are bright and vivid. It also does a fantastic job of Star-ing out the sun. Set your aperature at 9 or higher and take a picture with the sun off center but somewhere in the frame and you'll get a beautiful sunburst with multiple rays shooting out from the center of the s...
