Amazing Lens
There's plenty of reviews on this particular lens, so one more is not going to hurt. I will touch more on the "negatives" of the lens though. The lens is BIG. It significantly adds size to the camera body. It also adds a good amount of weight. So if you want something small to carry around, such as the kit zoom lens, this probably isn't the right lens for you. But if you want something that is sharp, gives you great images, has really good AF, then you won't be disappointed with this lens.
GREAT lens!
The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 Contemporary is an excellent lens for my Canon EOS M6 Mark II. After years of using much slower (smaller maximum aperture) lenses on M bodies, I've discovered a whole new potential. Build quality is excellent as is autofocus performance. About half of the time I use the 16mm the M6 Mk II is in manual focus with focus peaking to precisely control the plane of focus. I know the pixel peepers say it's a bit sharper at f/2.8 and f/4, but I don't see the difference. I also use...

The new SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary is the world’s first interchangeable lens for mirrorless Sony E-mount cameras in the APS-C format to offer a 24mm focal length (35mm equivalent) and F1.4 brightness. The lens for Micro Four Thirds offers a 32mm focal length (35mm equivalent) with the same f-number of 1.4. This is the large-diameter wide-angle lens for which mirrorless camera users have been waiting.
Stepping Motor For Excellent Autofocus & Quiet Performance.
The optical design and stepping motor deliver smooth autofocus during video shooting. The lens design fully accommodates the Fast Hybrid AF of Sony E-mount cameras for super-fast autofocus functionality. Using face recognition AF results in consistent autofocusing on faces, even as the subjects move.

Rounded Diaphragm.
The 9-blade rounded diaphragm creates an attractive blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image.
Setting New Benchmarks For Image Quality.
We used to measure lens performance with a Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) measuring system using conventional sensors. However, we have developed our own proprietary MTF measuring system (A1)* using 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensors. Even previously undetectable high-frequency details are now within the scope of our quality control inspections. All SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary lenses are checked using this A1 system before they are shipped.
