This lens is super sharp, relatively light, and an absolute workhorse! In comparison to the GM II, I'd say this is the move if you want to save yourself some money for practically the same quality.

Stunning image quality, beautiful bokeh, reliable auto focus but also very good on manual too.
I use this lens for video paired with my FX6 and it's a excellent option for a documentary/event lens. It's light weight, the built quality is solid and the image render is beautiful.

Amazing Lens

I am a beginner photographer and recently upgraded to Sony a7iii. Bought this lens to complement the other recent purchase of Sigma 85mm 1.4 Prime lens, and overall loving this Sigma line of lenses. I have only tried this lens for a few shots here and there, and simply amazed at the photo quality. The f-stop adjustment ring on the lens is a great feature and giving additional flexibility.  Would absolutely recommend this lens.

Best all around lens

Great lens overall, I haven't used first version so I will not be able to compare with it.
But build quality, features, sharp pictures and autofocus are great compared to Tamron g2 28-75.
I am very happy with this lens so far, Sigma has upped their lens game recently.
