Great lens

Great lens for the price. Nearly 1/2 the cost of the 24-70 GM II. I had a problem with it 2 years after buying new and SIGMA gave me a new one.

Great quality photos and performance, some small quirks

This lens is very popular for a reason. Photos are really sharp, and autofocus is very fast. Cons: It is a bit heavy. Also, the lens zoom lock doesn't work very well (the lock doesn't hold if you turn the zoom ring, so it pretty much doesn't do anything).

Amazing

Amazing lens. Tripod is nice and easy to transport. The filters aren't great but this is a great deal for what you get.

Love Love Love - Videography

Must have zoom lens. Love Sigma! For videography, it feels great, produces the great image that we love from a Sigma lens, and it is a 24 - 70mm.

Great lens. Quality build. Great price.

Love this lens! The build quality is solid and the image result is clear and clean. Both the focus and zoom rings are really smooth. For the price, its an amazing lens that every photographer should have in their camera bag.

My default lens

I bought this lens about a year ago for my Sony A7III. In that time, I have found this to be my default lens, and it rarely come off the camera. As others have mentioned, I love the versatility, and the sharpness is great. It's fantastic value for the price, especially in comparison to Sony. The only thing I can say critical of it is it isn't the lightest lens in my bag.

Incredible lens all around and a massive upgrade from the 28-70mm kit lens.

This lens is incredible! I purchased the Sony A7RIII 1-2 years ago for travel photography and have been using Sony's 28-70mm kit lens (3-5-5.6). I hesitated with this purchase for a long time because on paper, F/2.8 didn't seem like a huge difference. I'm glad I finally made the purchase because now I understand just how big of a difference a good camera lens can make. It's a lot more than just brightness. This lens is TACK sharp compared to my kit lens. I'm taking pictures I didn't even know I was capable of now. Another example is that I took a couple pictures I really liked on my kit lens that I recently printed on canvas at 36in x 24in. I was really disappointed to see it wasn't nearly as sharp as I thought it was from editing it on my laptop. I have yet to print any photos taken on this lens, but I have confidence that my future prints will come out looking much cleaner, and for that I'm very excited. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for any amateurs like me!

Thoughts about the Sigma 24-70

Solid lens. Bought as an alternative to the Sony G series. It's fairly heavy in the hand but offers great optical clarity for the jewelry and watch videos I'm creating. I like the feel of the lens, build quality is great. AF is snappy and works beautifully with my A74. Would recommend and suggest to anyone who wants an alternative to Sony. This is worth the money.

Excellent all around

Really nice lens. Sharpness is on par with even the Sony 24-70 GM II (very slight nod to the Sony), and fit, finish and function are flawless. This lens and the complementary 14-24, are excellent optical performers with a high class look and feel. Definitely worth considering in place of native glass.

Great do it all lens.

Up until I got this, every lens I had was a Sony: 20 1.8 G; 90 macro; 16-35 GM; 200-600 G; 600mm f4 GM. This lens is super sharp and should be on everyone's short list. For about the price of the 16-35gm or 24-70 gm, you can have both the Sigma 14-24 Art and 24-70 Art and get sharpness comparable or better than Sony and a wider range. Fit and finish of the Sigma lens is great - super solid feel, smooth focus and zoom rings, cosmetically classy, and complete compatibility with the A7RV and A7IV. Definitely worth serious consideration.

top notch

Such a stellar lens. I'm a big fan of the Sigma 24-70 2.8 ART - I would purchase it again a million times over. Excellent lens when you can't carry around a range of primes.

My go-to

Love the versatility of this lens. It's my "go-to" now! I used to only shoot with prime lenses but I love the ability to quickly zoom in and out. More creative freedom and flexibility! I recently started to take self-portraits and this lens made it easier. I don't have to move the tripod to zoom in and out.

Great Deal

The lens is an awesome, multi-use/all rounder for most applications. The cleaning kit is very handy and the extra lenses are a must have. Mainly for the protection of the lens. The tripod is way sturdier and heavier than I was expecting, which is a great thing. Overall, great deal!

Amazing

This was my first lens for my Sony a7iv and I was debating between this, the Tamron 28-75, and the two GMs. I'm super glad I went with the Sigma as it's still less expensive than the GMs but built better than the Tamron. I haven't had any issues with the lens and it's not as heavy as I thought either. This stays on my camera 90% of the time!

A better option than the GM.

I own both the G Master (Original version) and this Sigma 24-70mm. While the image quality is near identical, the Sigma is one of the closest focusing lenses I've ever used. You can nearly touch the lens hood to an object and still be able to focus on it! This alone makes it a much better lens for wedding photographers & videographers as we often need to shoot small details. The only issue I have with the Sigma is that the zoom feature becomes very loose after 1-2 months of usage.

Great IQ, better than the GM and Tamron. Half the price of the Sony GM. A great buy.

By gerald w.

Got this lens this week. It has excellent build quality. Fine controls, AF/MF switch and programmable focus hold button like the GM, but at half the price. Great focusing and quiet too. Sony Alpha Blog's tests (MTF standard) show the Sigma out-resolves both the Sony 24-70mm GM and Tamron 28-75mm. Lighter than the GM. So far my photos look great using it on my A7RIV. What an excellent choice and price for true quality. If you don't already have the excellent GM or Tamron, I would get this Sig...

Awesome lens for Sony A7R3a

By QIAO P.

Very sharp and very great lens! Sigma has already fixed the dust issue. My S/N starts with 564XXXXX and it has perfect dust resistance. The Sales Thomas made my purchasing experience extremely smooth and I am very pleased with it. The Hoya CPL and UV are also perfect matches for the lens and they won't harm your image quality.

Sigma Art Lens

24-70mm F2.8 DG DN. Best-In-Class Optical Performance.

The F2.8 Art zoom flagship zoom lens series is developed primarily to achieve superior optical performance. As extra-low dispersion glass materials, six sheets of “F” low dispersion (FLD) glass and two sheets of special low dispersion (SLD) glass are lavishly employed while taking advantage of an optical design dedicated for mirrorless lenses. By employing three aspheric lenses, this zoom lens thoroughly subdues aberrations such as axial chromatic aberration or sagittal coma aberration, which are difficult to correct in post-processing, tailors the resolution and achieves uniformity and superior optical performance from the center to the periphery throughout the zoom range.
The mirrorless camera-dedicated design successfully contributes to reduction in the lens size and weight.

Eye Detection AutoFocus.

The SIGMA 24–70mm F2.8 DG DN is compatible with Eye-Detection AF, built to perfectly capture the subject of the portrait photographer.

Dust & Splash-Proof.

The dust- and splash-proof structure and water- and oil-repellent coating make for easy shooting in difficult conditions. In addition, a variety of functions, such as an AFL button that can assign various functions to the lens barrel, a zoom lock switch that is unlocked by zoom operation, a nice touch AF / MF switch, are provided.

Dust & Splash-Proof.
Wide Angle For Up Close & Personal Shots.

Wide Angle For Up Close & Personal Shots.

The minimum focusing distance is 18 cm at the wide-angle end. This allows you to come closer to a subject than the end of a hood to take photographs. The maximum magnifications are 1:2.9 at the wide-angle end and 1:4.5 at the telephoto end, which provides a wider range of expression by close-up photography.
