So this lens pretty much does it all and is my go to lens for my everyday photography. Mostly moto inspired shoots with my bike but can cover everything in between. Highly recommend.

Being used to Leica lenses that are metallic and beautifully made, when I received my sigma, i first found it light, plastic, poorly made and cheap looking. But after several tests, I found the glass quite good with nice colors and sharpness. It sure gives more interesting result on full frame Leica SL2 than the Leica T lenses that are for discontinued Leica apps-c cameras. It looks cheap and is cheap, but the lens is good for the price.

Great lens. I have both the 24-70 Art and this 28-70 Contemporary. The biggest difference is weight. The quality difference is there, but in most cases it's not noticeable enough to set one too far apart from the other. The lighter 28-70, however, balances better on a gimbal. So if you are heavy on video, this is the better option. That being said, you do need to be mindful the lens has vignette issues at the lower 2.8 F stop. If you aren't careful you might have to crop where you wished you hadn't. Still a highly recommended lens, just know what you're buying.

Faster and a bit sharper than the Sony kit lens. This is a good lens, but if you already have the kit lens, I'm not sure this is worth the money. Great purchase though, if you don't have the kit lens.

Small, compact, effective. Excellent lense. The perfect travel buddy. I took it to Iceland in the rain, snow, and extreme cold. The lens never faltered. Quick precise auto focus. Never missed a hit, but YMMV. I godd a great copy of a wonderful lens.

A perfect overall lens for a Sony A7III or equivalent, the 28-70 is sharp, portable, light and feels good in hand, which tick all the boxes for an everyday carry-around or travel lens. It's great for family pics, portraits, landscapes, architecture, random snapshots and more. Weight is evenly distributed and has a good build quality (seems metallic) so it feels good in hand. The quality is what I'm looking for, as it is sharp and quick to focus, and colors come out as expected.

Size: In real life, this lens is bigger than the product photos make it look (which seemed almost unbelievably tiny), but it's still smaller and lighter than my existing crop-frame zoom. It's large enough that I might find myself bringing the Sigma fp's kit lens (a 45mm prime) instead of taking the zoom when I want something more than a cell phone camera but am not planning to do any serious photography; but small and versatile enough to be the lens I travel with if I want an all-rounder and _do_ expect to be using the camera. Feel: Mechanics feel great, inclusive of the zoom mechanism. Image quality: Not a single complaint. (A note about the range: The wide end isn't all that wide, but insofar as it's full-frame so one can crop down, this goes further than one might expect into the tele end).

My main goal with this lens was to find a small zoom lens that I could balance on a Ronin SC as a run and gun wedding setup. It is absolutely perfect in this use, quality is good, focus is fast and silent. I've even began using it as a EDC photo lens.

I tried this lens thinking it might replace my Sony 24-105 G at lower weight plus sharing 67mm filters with others lenses in my kit (including the wonderful Tamron 2.8/70-180 with which it's focal length range dovetails). It failed. After confirming my sample was properly centered, I used a high contrast target to test central sharpness. Results: -At f/2.8 central sharpness was mediocre at all focal lengths. -At f/4 central sharpness is inferior to that of the Sony at all focal lengths. -At 35mm central sharpness does not catch up to the Sony until f/5.6. -At 70mm central sharpness was mediocre at all apertures. Since the Sigma was unsatisfactory in central sharpness I rejected it without testing mid zones and corners. I'll keep my Sony 4/24-105 with its superior optics, weather sealing, and zoom range, despite the slightly greater size and weight.

adorama was the only site that had this lens for order in march and it came fast and on time! Really great lens! it's really light and compact so makes it great for everyday use! you do lose 4mm on the wide end but if weight is your main concern this is a great pick and for a great price as well! highly recommend

I?m new to this video and photography scene, but I think I made the right choice with this as my first lens. I borrowed a friends 24-70mm sigma lens and liked it, but this 28-70mm came out just as I was about to buy one for myself. Although it may not go as wide as the 24-70mm, it is lighter and smaller in size, not to mention less in price, and does the job for me! I use this with my Sony a7s iii

I have only used it once in a shoot and I can already tell that this lens does its job exceptionally well! 4 stars because ultimately would like the zoom feature to be within the camera body similar to the 18-105 Sony. It may not be a fair comparison, but it would still be nice
