A fantastic prime lens for my a6500. Very sharp images. The noise/clunking sound some people have griped about in other reviews is not a defect. It is a byproduct of sigma’s autofocus mechanics inside this lens. When the lens is connected and powered up on the camera the ‘clunk’ disappears because the autofocusing mechanics are engaged. However, I do get it. It was an annoyance to me before I understood what it was, and is the reason I have deducted one star from this review. I have a 30mm sigma prime also, and it does not do this, so I know sigma can produce a lens without this sort of focusing mechanism. That said, however, it probably has to do with the small form factor of the lens that they used this particular focusing mechanism.

I'm a newbie and experimenting with lens. This one is constructed really well and the accessories are nice. Still learning how to best use it with my Lumix GX85. The software that comes with it has issues being installed on all my computers. I was offered more codes but the problem lies with Corel I think.

The Sigma 60mm f/2.8 lens for my micro 4/3rds camera bodies is an excellent prime lens. I'm impressed with the quality design and build with an all metal mount and body. The bokeh is perfect for subject isolation and portraits at f/2.8. LensTip image resolution reports sharpness from center to edge with MTFs at a a brilliant level of 82.2 lpmm wide open at f/2.8 in the center and 62lpmm at the edge. I'm very pleased with the lens and highly recommend.

my fault for not checking the specs better. Could not work with the AF functions on the A6000. Only one focus point. No tracking, etc. Probably a great lens otherwise, but I just got the sony to use the other AF features.

I use this both for a short telephoto and a closeup lens. It is very, very sharp and easy to use. I especially like it as a closeup lens. Because it is equivalent to a 90mm lens it is great for closeup photos and at f/2.8 it blurs the background. At the price it is a steal.

An absolute bargain optically when used on the A6000. Very difficult to mount and remove on my new A6500. A quibble is that the Sigma has a smooth full length rotating sleeve (for manual focusing) which offers no grip whatsoever in interchanging lenses.

Astonishing sharpness for such an inexpensive lens. Light weight and focuses quickly on my A6000 Sony. I'd give it 4 ½ stars if it were an option and 5-stars if it featured OSS as well; even at price jump.

Absolutely great lens! The clanking element inside while the lens is turned off can be slightly annoying, but the upside to the lens is nearly limitless. Buy one!

Small and convenient. Sometimes a little long indoors but I make it work. Optically, the lens is 10 of10 on the sharpness scale. For the cost, you can't go wrong.

If you shoot a crop-factor Sony mirrorless camera this is a fantastic portrait lens. Scary sharp and with beautiful bokeh it's a steal at the price. It's not image stabilized so you need to concentrate on holding the camera still - particularly since it is so light. Also it makes an alarming rattle when switched off - but that's as designed. The filters are still in the box so no opinion there!

My first portrait lens. Picture quality is fantastic and lens was affordable. Better pictures of my kids than I've ever taken. However, shooting with older Sony NEX6 and focus speed is inconsistent. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow and sometimes it freezes up and I have to cycle power on camera. This is why I gave average review. Physically the lens is larger than expected and won't fit case. Not a fault of the lens, but I feel is important to note.

Excellent sharpness. Eye AF is not as responsive/accurate on Sony Mirrorless but does work. Manual focus is a delight to use. I would be more inclined to own the Sony 50mm 1.8 if I had neither but as an addition to that lens it's awesome. Does produce warmer colors than Sony glass.

The Sigma 60mm f/2.8 lens is a gem. The image quality, all the way to the corners, is superb, especially considering the price. You have to accept the rattling noise when powered off, but other than that, it is a great lens. I prefer to use prime lenses whenever possible, and this one fits a needed point in my bag. Note that it is NOT a macro lens.

I purchased this lens based on all the very positive reviews, the cost and value for money arguments, and as a compliment to a Sony 28mm f2.0 prime. As of this writing, I have owned the lens about 2-1/2 weeks. My usage as been limited to "testing scenarios:" daytime snapshots of grandkids and a walkabout at a dam and park area near home. Thus far, I am very happy with the lens, would recommend it, and concur with many other reviewers that have commented on the lens's edge-to-edge sharpness at f2.8, overall image quality, and size and ease of use on the ASP-C Sony A6500. As also noted, the phase detection (PDAF) auto focus points are only at the center of the lens when used on a Sony APS-C camera. Some practice is required to set the auto focus features set up properly on the camera and keep your focus in just the center. If one's intention is to use this as a sports lens, I suspect the subject on some fast moving objects may be out of focus. Nonetheless, I have been relatively successful when I pan along with the grandkid's movement across the yard -- though this has undoubtedly benefitted from the A6500's IBIS features. I should also ad I have been pleased with the manual focus results on static objects when using focus peaking on the A6500. Finally, I have been very pleased with the detail shown when I crop in by 100%, and sometimes more.

This lens is super sharp, like my Nikon 85mm f/1.8 G. It's much smaller and lighter than I expected, and it fits my Sony A6000 perfectly. I definitely recommend this lens.

Excellent lens, great sharpness and bokeh. Great lens for portraits and landscapes. A little long for street work, but it is on my Panny G85 more often than not.

Got this to go along with a Sony NEX used specifically for astrophotography. Stop down to f4 for corner-to-corner sharpness -- some smearing in the corners wide-open.

I was looking for a Micro Four Thirds lens for the Black Magic Pocket Camera. I wanted a lens that was built for the small body of the camera. The objective of the Pocket Camera was to keep it small. This lens has a lot to offer. Beside the great lens the Adorama Bundle kit that comes with it is great. I highly recommend it!

The lens is great! Heads up, the focus motor is loose until it's attached and camera is turned on. I was a little concerned when first taking out of packaging, but don't be alarmed, it is normal.

The lens is a very sharp and fast focusing. It is compact and well made. The focus distance of just under 20" is nice to keep from shadowing the subject. The issue that has been talked about a lot is the noise the lens makes when not in use is just not a factor for me at all. It seems as if you must almost bounce the lens around. If the noise is a problem don't bounce the lens around. I would recommend this lens.

Sharp. Rattle stops when it's mounted. Doesn't hunt focus any worse than anything else on a A6000. Very satisfied so far.

I bought this lens because I have the 30mm 2.8 and I absolutely love it. I also have the Sony 50mm 1.8 but I prefer the Sigma 60mm 2.8 because manual focus is much easier to use and I find the image to be sharper overall. I shoot portraits mostly so the 90mm equivalent is nicer than the 75mm equivalent from Sony's lens.

I really like the look of the portraits I've made with this, even under bad light. my only quibble i have is that the lens hood falls off if you breathe on it. too easy to lose!

I have this lens currently mounted on the a6000, and it delivers tack sharp images even wide open. For an inexpensive lens, it should definitely be part of every alpha-owners' kit. Am anxious to see how it performs on the new a6300.

This is my second Sigma E-mount lens purchase, and I'm more than happy with it. Beautiful color rendition, quick focus on my Alpha 6000, and tack sharp images! Focus is very smooth in manual operation as well. It's beautifully packaged and comes with front and rear lens caps, hood, and ballistic nylon carrying case-- accessories some manufacturers make you pay extra for. Yes, there is a slight noise when you shake the lens vigorously but this has no effect whatsoever on lens operation or performance. Just buy this lens-- you will love it!

Again a fine lens for Nex
By DAVID S.
Once again, Sigma has produced an inexpensive excellent lens for the Nex. Autofocus is accurate, consistent, quick and quiet. It is the equal of the 30mm Sigma produced in this line in resolution across the image with no obvious distorions or aberrations. Open aperture is as good as stop down other than for increased depth of field. The hood is a nice addition but I found it unneccesary except in the most challenging situations. Some might find it too sharp for some portrait situations. But t...

ast and sharp

I use this for table top product shots and find it to be very sharp at center and edge once stopped down at least one stop. Its kind of soft wide open but sharpens up real fast
