Great filter, saved my canon Rf28-70 F2. Was shooting a demolition derby when one of the cars kicked up a ton of mud and rocks....front of my $3000 lens was hit straight on. Cleaned it off and didn't even have a scratch on the filter. Was so impressed bought one for my rf 70-200mm

A solid lens and gives confidence that it is protective. The rings are just the right size unlike the previous ones I had which were much thinner.

For some reason this filter fogs easily. Even when I’m using my lens indoors without much change in temperatures the filter fogs, it’s very annoying. Let’s not talk about shooting outdoors, it has fogged just about every time I have used it outdoors.

I have been shooting a Rokinon 24mm t1.5 lens on a Sony A7riii with and without this filter. I would say it is performing very well since the images appear the same either with or without it.

Investing a substantial amount of money in great lenses it only makes sense to protect the front element from the elements ,I always make sure especially when at the beach to use a protective filter to keep the salt spray and mist off the front lens element , this ceramic protector does this and more

This is the best filter I have ever used. Super sharp and excellent protection. I love how slim it is as well!

When Sigma introduced this filter I was amazed by the romised hardness and visual quality but I kept my hopes low not to be diasappointed later. I bought two of these -a 77mm to fit on the Canon 16-35 f/4 IS USM, and an 82 mm for the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L II USM. I tested those on a 50 megapixel Canon 5DsR and compared them against another top quality filter, the Hoya Pro-1 my first choice up till then. Both Sigma filters emitted awesome quality, at least as good as the Hoya Pro 1 and even better on the corners where differences are easier to notice. This becomes possible by the slim glass of this filter. Slimmer, clearer and harder it is the absolute combination. The construction quality is superb, the barrel of the filter feels and is heavy duty although light, and it is a filter you cannot really tell is not part of an L series lens itself! It is that good! Sigma had always been delivering very nice and well built filters, but this new series is outstanding and given the new levels of hardness it is a best value for money all in all. It does not distort images or colors and I will definately try to buy those for most of my more expensive and most used lenses.

protection for your lens, so clear you do not know it is on your lens!
Under the Sigma brand, renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation in photography equipment, the 77mm WR Ceramic Protector Ultra Thin Clear Glass Lens Filter stands as a testament to cutting-edge technology and superior protection for your camera lens. This ultra-thin, protective filter is engineered to shield your lens from scratches, dust, and the rigors of daily use, ensuring your valuable equipment remains in pristine condition.
Crafted from Sigma's exclusive Clear Glass Ceramic, this filter boasts a revolutionary material that combines the hardness of crystallized glass with the flexibility of sapphire crystal glass. The result is a lens filter with unparalleled strength and clarity, offering a Vickers hardness number of 700HV, which significantly surpasses the durability of conventional chemically strengthened glass.
The Sigma WR Ceramic Protector is not just tough; it's also designed with high optical transmittance in mind. This ensures that the filter does not hinder the quality of your images, allowing light to pass through evenly and maintaining the integrity of your photographs from edge to edge. This makes the filter an ideal choice for photographers who demand both protection and performance.
Additionally, the filter features a water-repellent (WR) coating that effectively repels water and oil, ensuring that your lens remains clean and clear. The coating's antistatic properties also prevent dust and other particles from clinging to the surface, making maintenance a breeze.
Sigma's meticulous manufacturing process, conducted entirely in Japan, guarantees that each WR Ceramic Protector meets the highest standards of quality. Compatible with all Sigma lenses, this filter has been rigorously tested with Sigma's proprietary Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) measuring system to ensure it meets the exacting requirements of today's high-resolution sensors.
The filter's ultra-thin profile and lightweight design are made possible by the strength of the Clear Glass Ceramic material, allowing for a reduction in thickness by up to 50% and a weight decrease of up to 30% compared to previous Sigma filters. This slim design does not compromise on protection, offering over ten times the strength of conventional protective filters and three times the strength of chemically hardened glass filters of the same thickness.
Each Sigma WR Ceramic Protector comes with a specially designed storage case, crafted from a robust acrylic that is both stronger and more flexible than traditional materials. The case is engineered to provide long-lasting protection for the filter, ensuring it remains secure and undamaged during transport and storage.
In summary, the Sigma 77mm WR Ceramic Protector Ultra Thin Clear Glass Lens Filter is the ultimate choice for photographers seeking to safeguard their lenses with a filter that offers exceptional strength, high transmittance, and compatibility with high-resolution imaging systems. Its advanced materials and coatings, combined with Sigma's quality assurance, make it an indispensable accessory for any serious photographer.
