Questions & Answers

Miller B : Does the Sigma EM-140 DG Macro flash come with the proper adapter for the Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 DG Macro HSM lens?
Shopper : How is the bulb life ? What is the projected number flashes. Ease of use ?ANTHONY B : Not sure of the actual bulb life, but I have used it non stop 4 days a week for a year in a dental practice and have yet to have to replace the bulb.KIMBERLY W : I ended up exchanging the Sigma Macro Flash for the Canon Ring Flash. Out of the box the Sigma flash had at least on bulb in the ring stop working after firing it less than 10 times. May have just been a faulty unit. The Canon flash felt solid mounted on the camera and all moving parts seemed more solid.ARNOLD Z : I bought the ringflash as a gift so I have no idea of its performance, etc. SorryMOSHE S : I've been using it for over 2 years and the bulbs are still fine. I find it very easy to use.JEFF S : Hi To be totally honest my camera use is periodical and not day to day. So usage is not heavy enough to give true opinion on bulb life. Number of flashes are quite adequate for my needs. Overall it is much better flash than was with initial package. And it works as well as my son in law more costly Canon flash .JAMES E : It's very easy to use. Bulb life is unknown. I've used it a lot for 2 years and it's still working. It's good for what it's intended for...close up Macro photography. Not very good as a room flash.
Patrick A : What adapter do I need to attach to a Canon EF 100mm Macro lens or is there not one?JIANMING D : You don't need adapter. The EM-140 flash should fit on the macro lens. Exact size.ARNOLD Z : i'm afraid I have no idea. I bought flash for my son, a chef, to photograph food for his book. The flash was not the greatest option for that application. He is using flash with a Sigma Macro lens, I can't recall specifics but flash came with adapter for his lens SorryLEE W : Regretfully I am unable to answer this questionJAMES E : Sigma sells adapters to fit this lens. Google Sigma lens flash adapters.ANDREW R : This item includes the appropriate 58mm adapter ring.

Super

I ordered many items and everything was as ordered. All was well packaged. One item needed a phone call in order to exchange, and customer service was helpful.

Good company, good product

I bought this to use with my Canon t5i and it worked fine, However I recently purchased a Canon t7i and it didn't work with that. I emailed Sigma, not expecting much. They said the lens needed a firmware update which they did for free. I got the lens in the mail yesterday and it now works fine with my new Camera. Thank you Sigma.

Excellent Macro Ring Flash

This product is used on my NIKON D300 with TAMRON 90mm Macro Lens. Used for flower, insect and other types of macro photography. So far has worked very well. Easy to use. Instruction manual was easy to follow. Easy and quick to set up on lens being used.

Works exactly as advertised.

Exposure algorithm is generally spot of, but runs a little bright in macro shots. Easy to fine tune it. Nice halo shadow for portraits or on macro shots with close background. No shadow with distant background. Very nice that is shoots one side at a time for texture shadows in macro mode. Need to be pretty close to notice the difference, so not so useful on, say, 100mm macro. Exactly what I needed for medical/scientific. Plenty powerful.

Performs as claimed

Has worked well for the month I have used it. It does give reasonable color reproduction and no shadows from 1 to several feet. The coil cord is a little stiff and may hamper some autofocus lenses. A dust cap for the lens ring would be nice

Very Pleased with Macro Flash

I use the Sigma Marco Flash with a D-70 and D-50 Nikon cameras for close-up work at fire scenes and during evidence examinations. I'm very pleased with the flash, it's an excellant value for the price. My only complaint, I had to buy from Sigma a adaptor ring for my 60 mm Nikkor Marco lens.
